Work with a some of Leeds lads who now all lean our way!!!! and messaged a few today for their opinion on Roofe some comments below ;

 

- can play anywhere across the front line but at Leeds he excelled as a #9.

 

- scores all sorts of goals and is very good in air.

 

- very quick and very direct. 

 

- will tear the SPL apart.

Never was clear to me what Zungu brought to the table? What new facet did he bring that was an improvement over existing components? Nothing against the guy but just seemed like more of the same.

Moves the ball quicker from deeper areas than existing lads but it did come with a hefty price tag. 

 

Interesting to see who is next on the list.

Rumours are Itten is in Glasgow now - double signing announcement incoming, or just usual rumours? Who knows ?

I hadn’t heard about the Itten link when I posted earlier. On paper he looks very promising. The two of them coming in would be different, potentially very good. 
 

I hadn’t heard the Zungu rumour either. I didn’t see it with him but if that is who the management were set on then it is bad news for it to fall through.

Where is all this money coming from? Either we have struck a deal with someone (Lille) for Alfie with a clause that allows him to play Thursday (which is fraught with danger) or we're back to the good ole EBT days ?

Roofe is a player whose value has no doubt dropped drastically from when he was purchased from Leeds. This guy is a serious injury risk, there are no two ways about it. They probably secured his services for around 3.5M. If they didn't, they were robbed. Hopefully he works out but this is a big risk.
