hemdani off to osasuna

I still find it hard to believe that we would let him go for about £1 million. Surely he's worth much more than that?

I was thinking that this morning too. When you look at some of the prices floating about in England for Mediocre players it seems ridiculous that we would even consider selling our last poty for such a small fee. Hopefully he's not going anywhere anyway

Is he in the last year of his contract? Is that the reason we'd be willing to let him go so that we get some sort of fee for him?

As you say he was POTY last year so why would we want to get rid of him, surely that shows a lack of ambition. It looks like it won't happen, but the deadline is Friday night so anything can happen!

Last nights performance just goes to show that we cannot sell this guy.

Totally agree... Hemdani is important part of this squad and I hope that he will remain with us...

From Evening Times: Rangers sweat Hemdani exit

RANGERS were today pondering last-minute transfer window shopping - and the possible exits of two of their Champions League heroes.

It is believed Brahim Hemdani today again expressed his desire to the club's hierarchy to move on before tomorrow night's transfer deadline.

Spanish outfit Osasuna and a couple of Premiership sides are circling the French-Algerian midfielder.

However, no concrete bids have been tabled. And, with such little time left, boss Walter Smith will try to stave off any sale unless he can land a replacement.

That could prove difficult given the time restraints. So it is far from certain that the former Marseille skipper will be allowed to go.

Smith said: "There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Brahim. But as far as Rangers are concerned, we've not had contact from any other club."

St Etienne are also attempting to resurrect a move for Sasa Papac.

They offered £1m for the Bosnian in June, but he decided to stay and fight for his place.

Papac has started seven out of Rangers' eight games this season, but left-back cover is being looked at and he could slip down the pecking order.

Portsmouth's Dejan Stefanovic has been on the radar, but Fulham agreed a fee with Pompey yesterday and then held signing talks with the 32-year-old, although no deal was agreed.

West Ham full-back George McCartney, and Charlton's Ben Thatcher, have also been linked with Rangers.

Smith headed for a meeting with chief executive Martin Bain yesterday lunchtime, and still has money to spend.

Reports in Italy today claimed that both Rangers and Celtic had expressed an interest in former Chelsea midfielder Sam Dalla Bona who has been told he can leave Napoli. The 26-year-old is also being chased by Borussia Dortmund, but is said to prefer the UK.

Kilmarnock said today that are confident Steven Naismith will remain their player when the window shuts.

Rangers have made no fresh approach since their fourth offer was rejected last month.

Killie want £1.5m down, with £500,000 in add-ons, and it remains to be seen if Smith will go in with a late bid to finally get the player he rates so highly.

Bain would not expand on Rangers transfer plans, but said: "Champions League football is needed at the club. We have done a lot of rebuilding, and we will continue to do that. It's a long season ahead of us, and we'll see what happens next."

Hemdani must be very unhappy at Ibrox if he appears so desperate to move. I wonder is he still feels the same given our draw? We need him for those games - he is that important to us.
