Trailio 0 Posted August 30, 2007 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I would say that Barry Ferguson plays in more of a similar position to Ian Ferguson than Whittaker, in which case I'd say Barry is a better player than Ian was. The only other one might be Cuellar over Brown from what I've seen so far. Man for man is one thing, but its the amazing team spirit we had which meant we never gave up in matches and that counted more than raw talent. Cuellar is a much better player than Brown could ever hope to be, but as we've seen in recent times, quality counts for nothing without some fighting spirit in the team. CammyF 6,807 Posted August 30, 2007 Share Posted August 30, 2007 It's like comparing apples and pears - most of the 92 team had been at Rangers for a few seasons (or more) - most of this seasons team have been here for 8 games - not fair to compare and contrast. IMO Carlos, Hutton and Fergie would get into the 92 team relatively easily and lets remember that McCoist and Hateley onlt played a couple of group games as a partnership (if at all - Hateley got sent of against Brugge and McCoist was injured) - so Cousin, JCD and Boyd would have walked in ahead of Gary McSwegen.
