I don't see us spending £20m this summer, regardless of what we've sold. I think that's unreasonable. Considering what we've been through. 

 

Looking at the number again, though, I would be hopeful that we could get another body or two in.

I would certainly be expecting 1 or 2. Per haps a buy and a loan or free (barkley). 

 

That would get us to a decent spending level.

I would add that he didn't do what was 'advertised', when required. Substitute appearances in two of the home draws (Hearts and Motherwell). 159 minutes in total.

 

A different type of cost to bringing in players who don't perform.

 

His signing was another 'outside bet'.
