steve Davis was a terrific player for us and I have a mountain of respect for him but the idea he was going to be integral to our midfield until the end of the season is a bit of a downer

I think they were just being kind, boost his spirits. Not a chance he would have played even a third of games, hence why he should never have been re-signed.

I wonder if we'll reap the benefits of the last few games tonight. As difficult and frustrating as they were at times, the fact we came through may well have lifted a few players for tonight's challenge. Of course it also depends on Beale playing his part with team selection but if he get's it right we may be in for a less stressful result tonight. Here's hoping we don't just sit back and stop trying after we score number 7.

I’ve looked at the Motherwell squad.
 

No Aitken, Martis or MCann. No Quinn, St John or Hunter. No Bobby Graham (thank goodness) Not even a Willie Pettigrew. No problem.

 

Comfortable win for the Famous. Score about four and concede none.
