Cifu and Lundstram in midfield should ensure another turgid and low tempo game. Or am I being too pessimistic?

No, I think I got it pretty much spot on. Our midfield has all but ground to a complete standstill. Lundstram spends too much time sitting far too deep and apparently the sole purpose of our fullbacks is to receive the ball out wide, hesitate and pass backwards to the centre back. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So we spent a good chunk of the first half working out what our system was and who was playing where. We worked it out, scored, created another couple of half chances then Matondo got injured (just what we need). Then spent the rest of 1st half trying to work out the new system!

At least we're winning

It's a 3-4-3 now, as Matondo is replaced by Souttar.

... and we need to leave Cifuentes on the bench now. No two CM/DMs needed, with Cifuentes not really coming to terms with people harassing you all the time. I'd throw Sima on to one wing and play Lammers and Wright more through the middle.

What generally bothers me is that in the day and age of 4G and 5G, some of our play is more like telegraph- and carrier pigeon-speed in terms of thinking. Same with expecting a ball.
