[FT] Rangers 4 - 0 Livingston

There's always an element of luck involved when it comes to managerial appointments.

The Souness 'revolution' directly benefited from the English club ban from European competitions.

Any new Rangers manager has to deal with the EPL completely dwarfing Scottish football, so those halcyon days of 1986 and 9 in a Row are long gone, as are the days of players training at Gullane Sands, Super Ally, John Greig booting opposition players up in the air and all the rest.

Winning domestic titles should be our number one priority.  We don't need a revolution for that - we just need a good manager and some better players.

It's obvious we do need a revolution to become the dominate force domestically.

Having won 1 league and 1 Scottish Cup since our return to the top flight shows this.

As does being dwarfed financially buy Celtic.

If our ambitions are 1 title and a Scottish Cup every decade we're going the right way about it.

Agree, football actually modernised and passed him by while he was here. He was stuck in the ways that won him so much as a player with Liverpool and wouldn’t change.

Whilst that is true, he did implement a winning mentality, changed how players trained, how they managed their diet and how we played football.

Souness was always going to be "short-term" but he laid the foundations for us to dominate Scottish football and dragged our club into the modern era.

Walter Smith was the real legacy of Souness and Holmes era.

And who decides of we stick with Beale?

Gersnet says we stick with him.

None of us seem to know what the board think (maybe they're happy with him or maybe they're working hard to bring in a new manager).

I can't believe he's still here.

You've not answered the question. The board will ultimately decide when MB goes. The longer they stick with him, the worse it will get we are told, so if that's the case, it's another poor / bad decision from the board?

If the board were to tell us what their expectations of the manager / team are then we'd have at least an idea of what the board would deem as success or failure .

I don't think the board publicly stating their requirements would do much good.  If they stated the requirement is to win the league, they could wait until It's mathematically impossible before sacking him.

Replacing the board is virtually impossible.

Replacing Beale isn't.
