Yes; and I can't see us coming out of a one off cup-tie v Livingston with a completely clean bill of health.

There’s a lot to be said at a couple of weeks at Gullane builds them up for the season ahead get the feeling that if you drew our lads a bad look they would go down

Yep, if only Jock Wallace could be exhumed!

Sadly, as soon as he growled

"Ah've goat the battle fever oan",

there would be a collective fit of the vapours, and a rush to the sick bay at Auchenhowie.

Jock Wallace who was a brilliant coach up to circa 1980. Then came back to Rangers and no matter Gullane, banging the battle drum, shouting at players, managed over Rangers team that's 10 times worse than the current team.

It's not a coincidence that the next fulltime manager was Graeme Souness who changed the whole culture of training, diet and approach to football and lay the foundations for 9-in-a-row.

We don't need a return to Jock Wallace, we need another David Holmes with a vision of turning an old fashioned and failing football club into a forward thinking and successful club.

Ok Jock/Souness/Sir Walter etc. they had their pluses but what we really need is current squad to get finger out and play for 90 minutes.

xG/no.10's /low block just get out and play the game FFS.

Agreed, but out CLUB could do with someone on the board with the vision of David Holmes

Considering Souness had no managerial experience and ended up a dud at Liverpool, it could be argued Holmes got lucky with that appointment.

Maybe we should look for another ex-Liverpool midfielder rookie manager.  Shame Xabi Alonso is already doing well.  Wonder what Vladimir Smicer and Patrik Berger are up to these days?

I don't think Souness was his top appointment, that would have been Walter Smith who was a dud at Everton but a huge success at Rangers first as Souness assistant and twice as manager. Maybe he got lucky there as well eh?

Its isn't just his appointments that, it was his vision to change an old fashioned and hugely unsuccessful football club into a forward thinking, successful and modern club. Maybe he got lucky there as well.

I suggest, only, that the team lacks, and, thus, requires, cojones.

Souness himself, was no shrinking violet, class and aggression on the pitch, and off the pitch, pretty bloody ruthless with players.
