We need to get away from this weird fascination of giving or wanting to give important roles at the club to ex-players.

Neil McCann - great player, great pundit but failed at almost every role he's had in football after a fantastic playing career.

Craig Moore - another who had a great Rangers career biut done nothing of note after retiring as a player.

Neither are remotely close to DoF material. Only "ex-player" who I'd approach is Davie Weir but we are very unlikely to tempt him away from his role at Brighton.

Still all quiet on the managerial front I’m not sure in our case if that’s a bad thing or a good thing.

I would guess the favoured candidate has been picked and contracts are being nogotiated.

If they can't come to an agreement, I would assume the back up will be chosen

There is a whole backroom staff that will need contracts negotiated as well

He has got to be named today:

1. It's Friday 13th.

2. The appointment is, evidentially,  nothing to do with the Football Board, and all to do with the ouija board.

The logic is inescapable.

The bastards! The utter bastards and tormenting shits!!

The decision is made, but they are not going to make it public until Hallowe'en.

Clearly.

I imagine the board has to keep both parties engaged until a deal is quietly finalised. Hence why nothing can be leaked about either candidate being favoured over the other, just in case the intended deal falls through at the final hurdle.

I'm beginning to think the board is exercising better process this time but time, as always, will tell.

Is it even possible this could be the difference between Robertson and Bisgrove and between Park and Bennett?
