The McInnes thing is like a recurring nightmare.  He had his chance.

The correct time to get McInnes was right after Warburton left. He would have made us stronger on a small budget and weakened the then 2nd best team in Scotland Aberdeen.

He wouldn't have been a long term appointment but IMO the doings off them would have stopped and we would have significantly improved without maybe providing a solid title challenge. Then setting up the scene for another manager to build off that. His time is well gone and he done a great job at Aberdeen but is just doing OK at Killie.

Bloody McInnes. As far as I recall, his Aberdeen teams lay down, spread their legs, and allowed the fhilth to take their pleasure (and their three points) in any manner they wished.

It seemed that his 'dandy Dons' felt they were unworthy of sharing a pitch with the pederasts.

When they ran out to face us, mirabile dictu,  a different side, with a different mind set, emerged from the tunnel, and we were treated to a cup tie, clogfest, of a match, within which they gave no quarter.

At least Ferguson's teams kicked lumps out of both us and the bheasts.

Let's consign Del to the dustbin of history.

Given Muscats availability. We could potentially fall further back in the league (not that it will matter much) lose out in Europe ( we will finish bottom without a proper coach) and be knocked out of the league cup by Hearts.

Thats the potential cost of waiting for Muscat? Does he want our job or not? Is he worth waiting for? Not for me. He doesn’t want the job now then we move on.

Fully agree. I don't think he was the right man anyway, so bullet dodged if that's the case.

I think Muscat is worth waiting for tbh. I was already keen on him but after listening to a podcast with a Japanese football expert I'm 100% sold. He sounds like the perfect antidote to aimless and passionless rubbish we've had to endure. I also get the feeling that if we don't get him, someone else will.

Check the Rangers Review podcast on You Tube. They are doing separate videos on potential managers linked. They are also doing one with Thomas Buffel talking about Clement. Derek Clark on there can be rather annoying but the other guys are very astute IMO. (Joshua Barrie, Adam Thornton, Stevie Clifford etc.)

Not sure if I'm allowed to post direct links to rival podcasts?

It's a tough one.

I'd argue that Muscat's loyalty to his current club is a positive trait. And there are great value signings to be had in the Asian market, so his knowledge in that area could be a real positive.

What do we do for the next few months though? There's too much at stake for us to have a rookie caretaker manager over that period.
