Koppen will begin his new role with Rangers on 2nd January and will be tasked with ensuring the club have a thriving player trading model, and leading the recently revamped scouting set-up at the Rangers Training Centre.

Interesting. I'd prefer his main remit to be to recruit players who can win trophies. We are a football club not a car boot sale.

It's a step up for Koppen, after several years in various scouting roles.

'Director of Football Recruitment' sounds like a change in role from a pure DoF. That's not necessarily a bad thing as we do require a recruitment specialist.

PSV seem to have assembled a really good squad.

We've taken a Head of Performance from Brighton, too. It doesn't say what he did at Brighton, though. Taking ideas from Brighton can't be a bad thing.

The role of a DOF Recruitment makes more sense to me than a DOF for us. We need to do much better on the pillar of players trading and it goes hand in hand with recruiting talent for the team not simple for trading. I just hope he is able to sell on players that are surplus to requirements, something we've never been very good at.

I think it’s probably a very good thing 👍
