Tbh if Diomande is coming in then we need to let one of Jack and Lundstram go this summer.

Maybe even both if you want to sign another midfielder in the summer, which Clement will want too.

Surely Jack won't be offrred a new deal.

I would keep Jack.

He is our finest midfielder.

If we can get 20-30 games a season from him, along with his presence around the club, I think it's worth it.

(And make him retire from the national side.)

Makes sense for the euro squads too as he’s a homegrown.

Might be easier to persuade Jack to retire from internationals this Summer, as I'd imagine he's keen to play at the Euros.

I'd rather free up the wages for a new midfielder though.

That IF is getting shaker by the season.

We only have 3 or 4 outfield players who can return that figure, certainly at the upper end.

Jack's not one,

And he never will be one.

I wonder how much the fee is going to be? These are the markets we need to take advantage of IMO. Scandinavia and the Balkans could throw up some low cost (fees & wages) gems. Far better than the inflated/overrated/overpriced Championship market.

I think you're right

I can't remember the number of appearances he had last season but it was something like 35 games. Anything like that and it's definitely worth hanging on to what has been our best midfielder for several seasons.

But if he does go in the summer, I hope he goes with the thanks of all Rangers fans ringing in his ears. It's been a privilege to watch him play. I just wish he was joining us now instead on in the chaos of 7 years ago. He has to be a clear indication that there is genuine talent around the Scottish game if we had the eyes to see.
