Reflecting on the game this morning, I am becoming concerned at the problems cross balls are causing our defence.  Looks to me that we are using zonal marking which we tried and failed with during Gio's time.  We simply didn't have the players to execute it.  It is not quite so noticeable when Jack is between the sticks.

You are correct, in the last couple of seasons the amount of important goals lost to opposition cross balls is undeniable.

The Europa Cup final, last season's League Cup final and Scottish Cup semi-final and, this season's Champions League qualifier against PSV home and away.

The Europa Cup final equaliser is most frustrating, why did we NOT stop the cross coming in?

Because Scott Wright didn't stick a leg out.

I demand every Rangers player subject themselves to remedial training with particular emphasis on sticking their legs out.

Nail squarely on the head. We are far too passive at cross balls. The goal yesterday was typical. The forward attacked the ball as he should and when he made contact there wasn't a Rangers defender within a yard of him. We have the players but they routinely seem slow to react and too willing to allow attackers the freedom of movement to reach balls they shouldn't.
