scoring goals is not as easy as some people think and this is what boyd does with ease. ok he misses some (and even the ball) but who doesn't?

For me a striker should be judged on goals scored firstly. You mentioned somewhere about it being a team game and he's not much of a team player but surely scoring goals from chances the team is making is doing his part, and goals win games do they not?

To have a balanced team you need strikers or poachers as you call them to score goals along with workers who can help you create space or set you up. Would you rather have a better all rounder striker who scores less? They might bring more players into play but this doesn't guarantee the others will score more goals either.

It's just my opinion but I like 'poachers' as you say or someone who can simply score goals even when he can do nothing the rest of the game which is why I like Boyd. IMO that's is striker.

He is 24 and will hopefully improve other parts of his game which need it but only he can do that. Most players don't reach their peak until late 20s IMO so we might not have seen the best of him yet but already his scoring ratio is superb.

In a 4-4-2 he must play and start every game IMO.......

He would be a great loss to us if he left now......

Hull City rumoured to be making a 3 million pound bid for Boyd.

He's worth at least double that for me. I know you don't rate him Gribz - what gave me that idea!! - but he would be in my team every week.

As I've said before, he's only worth keeping if Walter is going to play him. He'll score goals and the more exposure he gets in the big games the more chance he has of scoring in them. But if Walter is gonna use him 'sparingly' then we would be as well taking the money and buying a creative midfielder.

why waste money on a creative midfielder when we have the great buffel on our books already :notworthy:

Regardless of what people think of Boyd, the thing that annoyed me most about the criticism against him last season was that no matter what he did or how he played on the park, there'd be postings after the game saying he hadn't improved at all. That to me summed up that a lot of people just don't like him for whatever reason and no matter what he does, he won't be accepted.
