That 15+ striker needs to be supplemented by other players who score the same amount though, otherwise its pointless. Look at Hateley and McCoist, Boyd and Miller........

I think we're saying the same thing. For me, I'd far rather have a 15 a season striker that has the ability to lead a line, pull a defence out of position, bully a defender, than a 20 a season guy that just scores 20 a season. You need that guy to make space for the rest of your team to weigh in with goals. And it's you're, not your. 😎

See, here's the issue. Your correct, Alfredo wasn't a great finisher, but for a season and a half, he was unplayable (at all levels). But he was supplemented, goals wise by Tav, Kent, Aribo, DeFoe, Roofe and Arfiled to a lesser extent. His detractors (there were plenty), claimed we needed a 20+ goal striker. Hey, presto, we got one. Now, 20+ goals as season isn't good enough, we want a striker like Alfredo. At this stage in our "recovery" we can't afford an Alfredo + goals, those players cost untold millions.

The sample size of games where Danilo and Igamane played together is miniscule so can't be used / quoted as a "trend".

Aye, sort of, but I never thought Alfredo was a particularly good finisher tbh, I'd actually say Dessers is a better finisher. Alfie was superb at leading the line though, until he decided he couldn't be fucked any more. There's no reason we can't unearth a morelos type player, I mean our scouting network and team management were a bit of a shambles back then.

But he hasn't shown it enough. We've only seen flashes and he look shot of fitness and confidence when he returned after his latest set-back.

I'm really hoping we can replace Dessers with someone who's better at linking play, pulling defenders about and generally being a tad more robust in duels.

Danilo is a very good player. We're much better in our general play when it's him and Igamane up front. Unfortunately - as with several of our players - he's fragile AF.

See above - I was genuinely excited when we signed him. He had a decent record in Holland IIRC. However, he's only ever managed to show flashes of what he's capable off between injuries and has been a complete waste of money thus far. I'd rather us sold Danilo and kept Dessers, but would prefer if both go is it frees up money/space for better alternatives.
