Let’s hope the 51’ers start with the right plan in place from the beginning , we need to keep Raskin and Barron at all costs and others are negotiable if the right price comes in. Dessers deserves another season at least providing we can get someone to work alongside him. I’m sure if that is the case he will become a better Striker 🤞
  3. He sold them to raise cash. Rangers acquired the shares in exchange for an investment in Arsenal when the Gunners were in financial difficulties, 1920s (?) Rangers baling out the Arsenal! Times have changed.

    I never got off.
  5. One of my favourite Rangers players. He would have become a legend but for the genius who was Baxter. Pity there were no substitutes back then. Rangers could have kept him and Alex Scott too. I think he went to Australia for a year before Liverpool.
  6. I never knew about that part until someone told me when I was on a tour there with my daughter, isn’t it true it was given to us a long time ago, Anyone know more about those Arsenal shares he gave away ?
  7. RIP - thoughts and prayers for his family and friends

  9. Excellent footballer. Rangers title-winner who became legend with Liverpool dies as tributes pour in for ‘one of Shankly’s heroes’ FORMER Rangers and Liverpool hero Willie Stevenson has died at the age of 85. Born in Leith in the north of Edinburgh, Stevenson originally played for Dalkeith Hearts before signing for Gers in 1958. 3Willie Stevenson won titles with both Rangers and LiverpoolCredit: Getty 3 Liverpool captain Ron Yeats carried by Stevenson with the FA Cup trophy in 1965Credit: Times Newspapers Ltd 3 Stevenson was a hero under iconic Anfield boss and fellow Scot Bill ShanklyCredit: PA:Empics Sport He played over 100 times for the Ibrox club and was part of the league championship-winning team in 1958/59 and won the Scottish Cup with the Light Blues the following season. The emergence of Jim Baxter at Rangers led to Stevenson moving to Liverpool in 1962 for £20,000 and he became one of the stalwart's in Bill Shankly's iconic sides of the sixties. He retired in 1975 after a stint at Macclesfield Town and changed careers, at one point running a pub and a cleaning company. Tributes have poured in for the Scot as the news broke. With the Reds, Stevenson won the league twice and the FA Cup and played in almost 250 games before joining Stoke City in a £30,000 transfer in 1967. A Liverpool statement read: "Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the passing of former player Willie Stevenson. "Stevenson, who made 241 appearances for the club in the 1960s, has died at the age of 85. "A skilful left-half, Edinburgh-born Stevenson was signed by Bill Shankly from Rangers in October 1962 and was a key member of the team that won First Division titles in 1964 and 1966, as well as the Reds’ first FA Cup in 1965.
  10. Always going to take a hit on Bajrami tbh. Didn't offer anything. Looked like he couldn't be arsed on the slightest
  11. No they're getting banned. However apparently Falkirk and Livi are going to lawyers and UEFA etc to contest it.
  12. Thought so too, but it looks like we are facing 3 in Livingston, Kilmarnock and Falkirk!
  13. Andrew Cavenagh reportedly flying into Glasgow, will take the lead on Managerial appointment.

Very few positives player wise - Igamane showed little glimpses of potential, Cerny would be my POTY just ahead of Dessers who once again ended up with 20+ goals. Clement should have been fired months before he was, the red flags were there in pre-season. Our fitness was shocking. Our board are not fit for purpose. Work on Copland is still ongoing, 1 year after it started. EL gave us some hope, but fizzled out in the later stages. At least we'll kick off next season at Ibrox and, all going well, new board, new manager and some new players. All aboard.......
  15. Along with our Arsenal shares.
  16. Yep. The Championship was much more exciting.
  17. Absolutely! 😂 But aye, hope the club get this back. Belongs in our trophy room.
  18. All in all I thought it was a pretty dull league last season
  19. Are you suggesting your OCD is more important than my OCD?
  20. Not exactly mouthwatering
  21. Boro! Ah well, it used to be Arsenal, ‘Spurs, Everton, Chelsea.
  22. @Rousseau mate gawn start hiding if you've edited a thread title, however you feel about your OCD and thread titles, looking at every thread on here and seeing the first thing being you've changed the title, is jarring mate. There's no a proscribed way to write a thread title by the rules. Makes every thread look untidy.

Clement should have been given the full season. No point in replacing hm until the next permanent was fixed up. Butland wasn’t all bad and Kelly was adequate. Souttar did reasonably well. Fine with a younger, fitter Balogun beside him. I liked Cerny but don’t expect him back. I preferred to see Hagi than not. Dessers gets the “Ha ha ha, who’s laughing now?” prize but strangely I wouldn’t be sad to see him replaced. For the future, Barron and Igamane and I’m glad Cameron has been signed. Jefte can play a bit but not as a defender. Draw a veil over tye rest of it.
  24. Tantalising but a straw would be more apt.
