  1. Past hour
  2. Just realised that Sergio Ramos scored for Monterrey last night. He extends his lead over Tavernier...
  3. Due to PRS rules, pretty much every club in the world is a selling club now.
  4. Today
  5. Ideally Raskin extends for 1 year and he stays this season. But he wants to play for Chelsea so could be off depending on suitors.
  6. Rangers head coach Russell Martin is keen to build his side around forward Hamza Igamane and midfielder Nicolas Raskin, who are both in demand from potential suitors. (Football Insider) ... IMHO: we value them, so pay higher transfer fees, please! Het Nieuwsblad reports that Aston Villa have started talks with Nicolas Raskin about a potential transfer out of Rangers for the 24-year-old Belgium midfielder. (Het Nieuwsblad via Daily Record) Rangers are keen on a loan deal for right-back Max Aarons, but Bournemouth are believed to favour a permanent exit for the 25-year-old. (Sky Sports) Despite reports in Greece, no deal has been finalised with AEK Athens, who are keen on 30-year-old Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers. (Sky Sports)
  7. Not very likely, since Shea Charles plays deeper than Diomande (who in turn would have more freedom), i.e. DM or even CH. Contracted to Soton till 2027. BTW, IMHO, as much as I like him, if we sell Raskin now, we'll get serious money to rebuild this ailing squad. We can't let these opportunities slip by, in the here and now.
  8. Tough start for Arsenal. They could be bottom half of the table after a couple of months.
  9. If there are offers. Signing one doesn't mean another is leaving, it's not causal. I hope Raskin is sold regardless.
  10. New thread for next season including transfers and gossip. Fixtures revealed this morning. First weekend throws up belters at Villa Park and Old Trafford along with a good one at Elland Road: Liverpool v Bournemouth (Friday night) Aston Villa v Newcastle (Saturday Lunchtime) Brighton v Fulham Nottingham Forest v Brentford Sunderland v West Ham Tottenham v Burnley Wolves v Man City (Saturday Evening) Chelsea v Crystal Palace (Sunday) Man United v Arsenal (Super Sunday) Leeds v Everton (Monday Night)
  11. Where was the advantage in being seeded? We didn't even have the consolation of being at home first. If Raskin is away, I fear for us.
  12. Need to win at home, away is tricky in Greece. Unlucky with this draw but we have to perform. Our squad currently looks a bit weak.
  13. If Raskin isn't extending his contract, now is the time to sell him.
  14. Why does a new signing mean someone is on their way?
  15. That's the worst of the three.
  16. Should be a easy one 🔴⚪️🔵
  17. Just read that Shea Charles is actually having talks with us. Could that mean Diomande is on his way? Hope to hell it's not Raskin.
  18. Most of the European teams don't look arsed.
  19. Well let’s hope this American Investment group 51er’s can entertain us and put on a show for us loyal supporters to be proud of! Let’s hope we have a similar ethos in place based on Bills ethos as that has been clearly lacking for some time. Sure there not everyone’s cup of tea and I was sceptical but after there statement on the commentary situation in our VAR no goal situation. I’m starting to believe again that we have a structure in place, Sure RM has to prove himself but with the right backing and investment 🤞 we can start to build our foundations again and lay the DNA of what’s expected as a whole moving forward in the one direction with a clear sense of vision and transparency for us fans to see and give us something to believe in 🔴⚪️🔵 NS
  20. Petershill might have put up a better showing 😆
  21. Wouldn’t matter to me if he was polka dotted or striped as long as he can play football
  22. He's a proper ginger too, look at those freckled arms. Great Rangers teams always have a ginger in them, this is a good sign.
  23. That length of tenure was actually much more common than you think. Willie Maley was Celtic manager for 43 years, in the early 20th century it wasn't unusual for managers to serve for 20 plus years. Guy Roux famously managed Auxerre for 44 years in more recent times. Struth's longevity is still impressive even for the period, but it's his success that's really noteworthy. Celtic were the dominant side in Scotland when he joined the club, by the time he left Rangers had won 10 more titles than Celtic. The manager's job was different then than it is today. Back then the manager was in charge of the club on a day to day basis and involved in all aspects of it. So Struth was felt across every aspect Rangers, not just the first 11. It's difficult to overstate his importance. Rangers weren't the massive club they are today when he took over, Glasgow was a city of immigrants many with no family ties to Rangers. Working men chose to go and see a football match based on who would entertain them as much as who they wanted to win. Rangers were an attractive side to watch, they had brilliant players who put on a show. Struth understood that football was about winning but also about doing it with a certain style.
