One of the comments to that tweet was class..... "And now he plays left back for Celtic"

I wouldnt disagree compo - my point really was that he hasnt been injured for two years - he has been fit for 8 months. Depending on wage, IMHO Wilshere would be worth a punt - he is a quality player and still only 28. Yes, there are injury concerns, but the quality he brings, at the right wage obviously, would be worth the risk IMO.

Stuart Gibson increases stake in club with £5m investment

They usually apply to a specific issue, as you say. Otherwise it gives the board more flexibility than the shareholders would normally give. -

If it was new cash would they not have had to offer to the other shareholders in order to dilute the shareholding ? Either that o get shareholder approval to issue the new shares without offering to current shareholders ? I suspect if it were new cash we would have found out about it through C1872 as one of the major shareholders. I a obviously guessing too but I would suspect this is conversion of loans to equity. -
Lol. Not at all Uilleam. I just know from some discussions that there’s an agent in Scotland (cant remember his name) that is punting Scottish boys all around Europe just now. Mebude and the lad Liam Morrison at Celtic just moved to Bayern Munich. He plays CB for the national youth team beside Leon King (though he is a 2003 whilst Leon is a 2004). The agent is apparently a guy called David Moss

I don’t want to sell Morelos at all but not sure why it’s such an issue to sell him today - fact is, we’ve already brought in his replacements in Roofe and Itten. So it isn’t as if we then don’t have time to bring in a replacement when they are already here. i love the wee man, but Roofe looks a better player to me in his short stint. Mobile, knows where the bet is, brings others into play as well. And I get the impression he also can work a back line. id rather have both right enough

Im led to believe he was looking for 5 figures per week BD. No way are we paying that for a prospect
-
Well that’s not necessarily true. It was already known that Liverpool were sniffing around him. Theres a reason he was looking for a 5 figure per week contract to stay.... and it isn’t rocket science to suggest that may have been due to interest down south. There is an agent in Scotland who is touting boys all over the place just now - the one who brokered the deal for Dire Mebude to go to Man City and also for a young Celtic lad to move to Bayern Munich...

I had this exact discussion with Kevin Thomson. He said they had done far better than us at bringing youths through but I pointed out that the likes of Forrest, McGregor, Tierney etc were all coming through when Celtic knew they would win the league by 30 points as they had no competition. Their golden boy, Karamoko Dembele (who by all accounts IS a very good player) can barely make the bench. Their “youth policy” since we have come back up and have started challenging again has been virtually non-existent. We do have some very decent youths like Dapo Mebude, Ciaran Dickson, Kai Kennedy, Leon King etc.... but they need to be patient and they need to develop.

Anyone else having issues getting the game live as a ST holder ? -
I don't think the criticism of Arfield was unfounded either - he was poor, by his standards, for quite some time - proof of which is the fact that Gerrard dropped him and he struggled to get back in the team. However, rather than accentuate that negative, surely our best course of action as fans is to highlight his current form, which is very, very good. The Arfield of old is an excellent player for us - and he seems to have recovered that form, form which will make it difficult to drop him - exactly what we want

Dalglish is absolutely spot on

No answer because it takes a little more attention than a quick hit and run jocular response to BD's. It is a Friday night, my son turns 16 tomorrow and I am spending time with him - but that's ok mate, just you believe that I am ignoring your post. I'm not, and I will respond, but I intend on enjoying my weekend and my son's birthday rather than spending all my time on here trying to explain to you why having a "hard man" on the pitch for Rangers is far, far different to Celtic having Scott Brown on the pitch. If you think I was sniping rather than having a light-hearted jab then there isnt much I can do about that. I will, however, wish you a good weekend and will respond whenever I actually can find the time.

Talking sense doesnt appear to be popular in this particular thread BD

No, I am not wrong - you are assuming that Rangers players will be officiated to the same standards as all other teams players - using Man City as a comparative is utterly pointless because English refs, whilst they may not be the best, they generally officiate in a balanced manner. Scottish refs don't - Rangers players, as we have seen plenty of times over the last few season, are shown cards that players of every other club don't. If you can't see the difference between how a Man City "hard man" would be treated by English refs vs how a Rangers "hard man" would be treated by Scottish refs (by comparison to other teams players) then I can't help you.
-
No, I dont. However, just what do you think will happen if players take out retribution on the pitch ? The very same supporters were likely calling Morelos all sorts of names when he was getting sent off last season and the season before - now they want him to mete out his own retribution, likely to end in a red card. What an absolutely ridiculous, stupid suggestion. Aye, lets just batter into them, get sent off, drop points, lose the league, see Celtic get 10 IAR.... and then we will blame the players for not being disciplined enough and missing important players at important times during the season. I honestly despair at how our fans work the thought processes through sometimes.

No, it doesnt suggest Balogun is first choice - and SG highlighted that in a presser - Helander had played for Sweden in an international that same midweek which was why Balogun was preferred - SG was even at pains to say ,and I quote.... "this doesnt mean Fil has been dropped" -
