Hardly, when he plays with a team that keep the ball on the deck ?
-
Messi has now confirmed he’s staying as the club have said if he wants to leave he will need to pay the £625 million buyout which isn’t happening.
-
The one he had in my village is called the Brewery Bar in Catrine in Ayrshire

crackpots. And STILL can't spell

Eric Caldow owned my local pub for a number of years - a nicer man you couldnt meet. Incredibly likeable, incredibly personable, and you would never guess he was a legend from speaking to him - as down to earth as they come.

I have one of these.... thank you BD and can attest to them being of fantastic quality and an outstanding gift for someone, or even yourself. 25% commission, right BD ?

Thought the OP was going to say we were buying the disco lights as they would get greater usage at Ibrox.....

Newell is pish and Kamberi spent the second half of the season at us. Horgan has always looked decent, but still not good enough for Rangers - which also means Middleton would struggle. Would I like the lad to come good ? Absolutely - but for a Gerrard team he is too one-dimensional.
-
With all due respect mate, if Middleton needs injuries and suspensions to break into Hibs team then is he really good enough for games at Rangers ??

Middleton's lack of appearances is in your post - he is a winger and we dont play with wingers. Jones was also told to adapt and be able to play inside more often, or narrower, and he is struggling to adapt his play to suit, hence his lack of gametime. Us playing with natural wingers is fairly pointless when there is no space to get to the byeline where they are most effective. The way we are playing just now with fluidity across that front 3 and the fullbacks offering the width is, IMHO, the best way to combat park the bus tactics.

Thats absolutely remarkable given this pandemic, furlough and employment uncertainty - we most definitely ARE the most LOYAL fans around

At £10 million you’re AT LEAST 50% off his real value. I personally wouldn’t even sell him for the £20 million. He’s absolutely vital to our potential for success this season. £8 million IS decent profit but we need to stop this notion of “decent profit” and look at a player’s true value. He’s been not only the best full back in our league but a top performer in the Europa for the last two seasons. When Man City are paying something like £50 million for Mendy then we shouldn’t be accepting anything less than half that for Barišić, IMO
-
His performances for us have not been at the required standard. I’m not saying Barker is a great deal better though as I think neither are good enough for us. Middleton scares his opposition with his pace but for the most part he’s rendered ineffective because they sit so deep anyway. He simply doesn’t have the trickery of a Kent to go along with his pace. And, yes, neither does Barker, which is why neither are good enough. Not so sure about the Hibs situation - did he not fail to get much game time under two different managers ?
-
Low is one thing, but a bid which they know would never, ever be accepted is another. Barisic just recently signed a long term contract so even if his head is turned, unless the club get proper value, he wont be going anywhere and will be expected to continue to perform professionally. Thankfully our transfer negotiations recently have been much more professional and with proper values attached.

Just for his bandage only I presume ? Jokers. GTF Leeds with your derisory offers - if they want him they should be paying 4 times that IMO. He's a better LB than chocolate hips that Arsenal reportedly paid £25 million for (if you believe the numbers). For the record, I wouldn't be selling Borna at any price - I think he is absolutely vital to what we want to achieve this year. Rolls Royce of a player

IMHO, yes really. I thin Messi does things with a ball that Ronaldo can only dream about. Huge respect for Ronaldo, but think Messi is the better player. Ronaldo has lifted Portugal for sure but it isnt like he has a poor supporting cast. Messi is unfortunate that his Argentinian colleagues for the past decade have only been world class in the attacking areas and been poor defensively and even in midfield. These things are always subjective but Messi sees things others, even world class players, just don't see. For me it is indicative that when ex-players are asked that age old "Messi or Ronaldo?" question that almost invariably the response is Messi. I even think Messi is better than Maradona (sorry Uilleam) but I do still remember Maradona single-handedly taking a poor Argentina team to the World Cup - and they may have won it in 1994 again as a poor team had he not been banned for shoving the Columbian marching powder up his nose. Maradona may have been even better had he been afforded the protection that today's players get. Still think Messi is the best ever - as I said though, very subjective.

I am not sure how Middleton gets so much credit as a player. Not only does he have little more than speed, but he couldnt break into a mediocre Hibs team last year - I dont think that is good enough for Rangers. Barker played well the week before and that is almost forgotten. He is still trying to break through and get a consistent run of games. I doubt he gets many of those though when Itten, Defoe and Aribo are back.
-
Which is why he will end up at City
-
According to inside sources Messi isnt overly concerned about the wages - or I should say "it isnt all about the wages" - he wants to win another Champions League. Given he is worth, apparently, $400 million, I can see why it isnt all about the wages. Seemingly he is on £99 million a season at Barcelona which is insane when you include loyalty and image rights.

Europa 2nd/3rd Quali Rounds: Progres/Willem II v Lincoln Red Imps/Rangers
craig replied to Gonzo79's topic in Rangers Chat
That’s usually my mantra ? But to be fair we’ve gone from Pedro and Progres to Gerrard and Braga, Feyenoord, Porto etc. We have more reason to be positive than negative in Europe these days. -
They aren’t really stipulating, they are giving their opinion on his contract. Also, and I definitely could be wrong, but I think Spain has a unique situation in their contracts because, as far as I’m aware, it is the national association who mandate that every players contract needs a minimum release clause. The national association aren’t stipulating that though, they are confirming the number within the contract. Barcelona, likely in discussion with Messi and potential suitors, will decide what the actual number is. its all very easy to argue for an amicable split..... but guaranteed if any of us had the best player in the world at our club who wanted to leave, we would want the club to realize as much as humanly possible. Yes, Messi has given Barcelona 20 years fantastic service.... but Barcelona have also been very good to Messi and helped him achieve fantastic wealth and having won many top honours. At the end of the day its a business. If Madrid got £80 million for Ronaldo at 33 years old then it’s easy to see why Barcelona don’t want to just let Messi go for free. Indeed, their Board must be shitting themselves if he leaves at all because he’s been carrying that team on his back for the last 5 years since Xavi retired and Iniesta left.
