  1. If I was still back home you could have nipped into my house in West Calder for a pre-game beer Cammy.... alas, I came back to Bermuda on Monday
  2. Not every team has the finances of Rangers and Celtic and, ergo, will attract certain types and standards of players. They have a job to do which is to stay in the top division. Nothing wrong with them playing to their own strengths, even though it isnt what we like to see ourselves. I didnt see (m)any of us complain when parking the bus against Barcelona and holding on for a 0-0 draw.
  3. I know Gary - we played in the same youth team at Killie Boys Club - what was surprising to me was that Gary was maybe the 5th best player in the team, but the only one to make it pro. The biggest difference between he and the rest of us was his desire to make it - he wasnt letting anything stand in his way. Ruthless would be a word I would use. His Livvy team plays with the same work ethos as Gary brought to the pitch himself - had a great engine on him even back then, played right midfield for us. Good lad is Gary
  4. Absolutely zero chance that Celtic get punished there Cammy. If anything it will be a “UEFA-style” £10k rap on the knuckles just so they can say they punished it. its lunacy.
  5. They have used, basically, that idea before when we saw the tragedy of Phil O Donnell's death
  6. For their sake they will be hoping that Milan and Napoli never watched their game against Killie... for our sake we hope they did - they were awful, sunday pub league players
  7. You wouldn't be saying that if they had a full strength team and won the league - you would be wishing they had sold their better players and replaced with inferior players And of course it is winning - nobody looks at the league table and goes "They didnt really win it because the other team werent as strong"
  8. Until or unless it is one of our players.....
  9. I would rather they sold ALL their players and had to complete a season with nothing but their U16 team as it would give us the league.
  10. You do realise he plays in the English leagues right ? That there is a premium on players down there ?
  11. I dont know a great deal about what they do over that side of the city - but they only play with a single striker I thought - so they now have Edouard, Ajeti and Griffiths all vying for one spot ?? One of them is moving on and whilst the natural choice would be Griffiths due to his off-field antics and lack of professionalism in staying in shape - you must wonder if they are in need of, or already have eyed up, selling Edouard. What I find more interesting is that the little I have seen on social media is that their fans are more concerned about their central defence than they are their striking options. So my guess is they need to sign a CB too. Ajeti has to be replacing someone, surely they arent going to keep 3 strikers on the books when they only play 1 up top ? Ajeti & Itten have followed a very similar career path having both played for both Basel & St Gallen - Itten's stats are slightly better than Ajeti's, not that this makes any statement Hopefully he proves to be a £5 million bust
  12. Could we afford his wages ? He’s always done ok when I’ve seen him for Norwich, would be an interesting signing.
  13. Unfortunately Docherty lacks in the technical aspects of the game which will be why he will move on. It’s a shame because he always gives 100%
  14. The problem with the tired old “we don’t need 2 DM’s” line is that there is nothing wrong with 2 DM’s at least one of them is playing vertical passes. I’d rather have 2 DM’s playing vertical passes than someone playing further forward (so not a DM) who goes sideways or backwards
  15. I don’t think he’s saying it because he thinks “his time has come”. I think he’s saying it because a second shutdown of Scottish football would be absolutely catastrophic, for Rangers as well as Scottish football. Hes also probably saying it simply because he’s a football man who loves the game and the challenge, who wants to manage and try to do what weve waited a decade for. Does he think his time has come ? I’m sure he felt that way last season too - he’s a winner, and when you have that mentality you always believe you have a chance. But I personally think his comments were a bigger picture statement than thinking his time has come
  16. We actually play another two games before they play. We are also at home to Killie the following week whilst Celtic have the later game that day. So everything going well we should be 11 clear by the time they next kick a competitive ball domestically
  17. The problem, and it’s a good one to have, is that Aribo also seems to be better suited in the “10”. Aribo has started the season better and deserves a run there.
  18. We all know that bud. But 3 years ago we would be very unlikely to be so comfortable against anyone. The job isn’t done yet but we certainly are headed in the right direction.
  19. It’s amazing that it’s only three years ago we were being humiliated by Progres and the infamous bush conversation with Pedro.... to the point that we now are somewhat underwhelmed by a very comfortable 3-0 home win against an historically difficult domestic opponent..... How times have changed. Our Board and management team deserve great credit for the distance travelled..., but the journey is still not complete... stay focused and clinical for 10 months please ??
  20. I literally had the same thought right at full time whistle
  21. Has McLaughlin played 6 games ? Tonight, St Mirren, Motherwell, Lyon - so 4 games for him.
  22. Bringing 5 subs on when game is over as a competitive match makes maintaining tempo difficult
  23. Couldn’t agree more..... aside from 7 scored, not 8 ?
  24. Not really in all honesty Ian. Having got well ahead I’m happy we got minutes into Roofe, Itten, Davis - and to get some rest forMorelos, Aribo, Jack. Long season ahead, points in the bag, job done, we go again ?
