I’ll play along... what will constitute thuggery and what will constitute playing a physical, hard, but fair game ? And then, where in the OP did Holt say he wanted his team to carry out a game plan of “violent play” ?
-
It’s pointless mate. JFK is inside Gary Holt’s head and knows exactly what he’s thinking.... whilst he says nothing of the sort ?
-
???. I’m deflecting ? Really ? Hahahaha. You still haven’t answered where in the OP that Holt says he intentionally will deploy violent conduct. If that’s not deflection then I’ve no idea what is ? So let me get this straight... when Gerrard says it what he’s actually saying is “we won’t be intimidated”.... but when Holt says it he’s saying “we’re going to kick lumps out of them”. You really should charge for your fortune telling services, hypocritical though they are. Away and don’t talk shite JFK. Just because I know Gary Holt and know him to be a decent person doesn’t mean I’d be calling out if he was willingly going to deploy violent play. He’s telling his players to not be intimidated and be physical, within the confines of the game. I’d be pretty sure of that. But you just crack on in your mind reading that he wants them to kick the shit out of opposition players and risk red cards ? how is there “no doubting” what Holt said ? You still haven’t evidenced where he said he’d be deploying violent play so there’s absolutely tons to doubt in what you say. Using big words doesn’t mean they’re right. And Gerrard absolutely HAS advocated doing the ugly side of the game well. Your issue is that you clearly don’t understand what the ugly side is, either that or you’re bifurcating what it means when Gerrard says it vs when Gary Holt says it - which can be described as nothing short of hypocrisy. Anyway, you’ll never see past the blue tinted specs you use which means you have little objectivity - so it’s pointless continuing a ridiculous debate.

Aribo has a “slight knock”

Starting line up may change given the news that Lyndon Dykes is out - which is very good news for us. QPR have agreed a £2 million fee for him so he isn’t playing and will travel to London after the game for signing talks.
-
Which is strange considering they have very few fans at games ?
-
I’m telling you our own manager has said similar things to Holt but you won’t ever accuse him of “deliberately intending violent play”. Nope, you’ll deflect, as is your prerogative I guess. You do realize that crippling tackles can still be legal challengers, right ? A 50:50 can still end up in a player suffering serious injury.
-
Fail to see the connection between him being a good guy and wanting us to lose. Ridiculous statement
-
Our very own manager, during his current tenure, has mentioned "doing the dirty work" and having to do the "ugly side" from time to time.....
-
Exactly. Nowhere does Holt talk about violent play. Maybe JFK needs to update himself on current footballing terminologies.
-
And I am going to quote the OP just so we can see the exact words we are considering here. There isnt ONE word which suggests violent play, not one.
-
My oh my - can you say where Holt says anything which is "openly talking about intending violent play" - utter nonsense. You need to sometimes actually read what has been said rather than trying to fit everything into your neat little narratives.
-
You were the one that mentioned thuggery and Gonzo gave you an example of thuggery in the game - or are you suggesting that your avatar isnt an example of thuggery in football ? Again, all rather contrarian to me. Harsh but fair is considered thuggery, but swinging a punch at an opponent is considered irrelevant..... there you have it, I suppose
-
What's this blatant thuggery you speak of ? Being hard but fair is all part of the game - it's supposed to be a contact sport, not a snowflake sport

Aberdeen and Celtic players break Covid quarantine rules
craig replied to rbr's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed on that. I've witnessed it first hand and actually been fairly uncomfortable in said pub, though not uncomfortable enough to not buy a pint... -

They didnt breach the city's lockdown rules but they broke the bubble rule did they not ? -

They are ultimately responsible for their players actions and, unless they didnt inform them of the guidance, they failed in their responsibility. -
Personally I would go with Edmundson as he would relish the physical battle with Dykes.
-
I personally have zero issue with it - i much prefer honesty, which is in part why I thoroughly enjoy listening to Gerrard's pre and post match pressers. Some will slate Holt for being honest (slating the style of play he will deploy more than anything) but then also ridicule McInnes for saying that they want to take the game to Rangers or can compete for second place.... Sounds contrarian to me

Thought we were only 8 years old ?

Just as well Coke Zero aplenty in the house... next time maybe.... What is the family if you dont mind me asking - small community and everyone knows everyone else - I might know them.... You really should have bud - the ONLY financially feasible way of visiting Bermuda is to stay with family..... £500 a night in a hotel, £9 for a pint and £5 for a loaf isnt easy to stomach

Presumably this is for McCrorie ? Really not sure how you can sell a player and then demand he can't play against you. And on top of that, intuitively, if you think a player can hurt you so much that you don't want him playing against you then why sell him ? I do understand that he may not get into our team right now but I would have thought McCrorie could be worked on as one for the future. That said, I think Hibs would be a good move for the lad - and it also strengthens them - so if we get that clause then it strengthens them against everyone except us - we should have been doing this long before now - Celtic have been doing this for many years.
-
I agree - I get the impression that it is helping us playing in front of empty stadia because of the lack of moans and groans from our fans. Early doors but it seems that Celtic are the opposite (optimistic loyal). And we hopefully will be back to fans in stadia by the time the first home OF rolls around too.....
