Celtic Boys Club manager 'stuffed banknotes in boy's mouth'
craig replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Will Leigh Griffiths be taking the knee alongside him - just to ensure that hypocrisy is alive and well ? -
The marked difference between these and EBT's in theirs and our situation is that theirs weren't administered by the club. Which means Celtic can, legitimately, claim that what their staff do with their own money is their own business and it is nothing to do with the Club.

SPFL Season declaration challenged legally (ongoing discussion)

Why would Rangers do that just for the benefit of Hearts ? -
SPFL Season declaration challenged legally (ongoing discussion)

They can’t Jerry mander it though. Which clubs in too flight are going to vote to lose a home tie against the OF every season ? -
dB, as Bluedell says, my use of the word Tim was in reference to Celtic fans. I personally couldn’t care less about someone’s religious beliefs. I’m also unconvinced that you can “mirror straight back” the comments I’ve made. I’ll say when someone has had a poor game but I don’t think I’ve ever slated a Rangers player when currently employed by us. But if you’ve found that feel free to link it to me ??

You honestly don't think that Lawwell will be prepared to get his hands dirty on this one ??? -
a) did you slag Hutton ? Yes or no ? The time delay makes your hypocrisy any less relevant ? Not in my view. He is but one name..... I have a bone of contention with EVERYONE now and then... and they with me. But mostly we admit to it and accept we are less than perfect. ~You, on the other hand, try to deflect and deny. As is your prerogative - I am also being civilised - are you suggesting otherwise ? I also would much rather objective debate than subjective, makes it far easier to actually debate the issues. b) Are you a Tim ? Gerrard cant show you the silverware, which is exactly what a Celtic fan would ask you. For someone who is clearly a Rangers fan (yes, you clearly are), you are doing a grand job of Celtic fans bidding for them.... OK. Gerrard cant show us the silverware.... but, to show, yet again, your hypocrisy, I can almost guarantee that if I had the time or inclination.... I would easily find posts from you saying that the silverware wasn't that important but that the progress was (which... BTW, I agree with). So.… when wil you end your hypocrisy ? I, for one, believe that SG still sees Tavernier as his best RB by a country mile. I also think that SG sees Tavernier as his captain. I also think SG sees Tavernier as his most influential player going forward given his tactics and formation and, for that reason, I suspect that I will see plenty more of your "Tav is shit" or "Polster is better than Tav" posts this year..... SG has seen Polster for the better part of TWO YEARS in training.... so he clearly doesn't see him as a medium term alternative to Tavernier.... no matter how you try to shape the discussion.

No chance. They couldn't care less. And Budge will either cave or be bought off. And it is a different legal system... just in case you didn't realise who our Justice Minister is..... -
And that, right there, shows why these polls are a crock of shite
-
a) no it isn’t. You have a go at people for giving our players a rough time yet feel perfectly at liberty to give the likes of Tavernier, and Kyle Hutton before him, a rough time. That’s hypocrisy in anyone’s book. Just because you shout “nonsense” doesn’t make it so. Nice try though. b). I’m pretty sure Gerrard is more than aware of the potential consequences of continuing to pick Tavernier, or whomever tomorrow’s scapegoat will be.
-
a) Maybe you shouldn't be hypocritical and people won't haul you up for it - numerous times in the past you have criticized forum members for slating our own players - and then when you do it yourself ala Tavernier you get defensive and accuse others of being petty. b) Maybe it is simply the case that SG sees Tavernier every day and compares him to the other options and feels that Tavernier is training better than the rest and deserves to retain his spot... and before you dispute that attitude you would do well to remember that you yourself often state that the coaching team are the ones who see these players daily and know better than us mere fans how the players are performing....

Ahhhh, haven't had the chance to watch it yet - cheers Gonzo

And nobody is denying that - but should we just brush it off with "well, we shouldn't have lost a late goal against Accies" or should we be highlighting what appears to be, at best, incompetent officiating ? There is a reason we don't get balanced officiating and that reason is, for the most part because Celtic and their fans played a blinder when they forced the ref's strike and everything that happened from that point forth. Even if we win the league the incompetence won't stop if we don't challenge it publicly.
-
They haven't.... that we know of. You could be right but have no idea if the cub are still pursuing this or not. It isn't always wise to be transparent too early. Sometimes better to not show your cards. I'm not saying you, Stevie or Ian are wrong.... but we are, at this point, simply guessing that the club have given this up. We don't know yet what they are doing, if anything. Why not give them the benefit of the doubt until we know for sure ?
-
How do you know they haven't ? They may be in the process of putting together a legal challenge - these things don't happen overnight. I am not saying they are but some of our fans don't appreciate that these things can a) take time and b) are sometimes better done in the background without all the public urore over them.
-
Whilst that is clearly true, there are also a number of other incidents which cost us points that would have had this league much closer - likewise, there were games where there were incidents which in essence gifted Celtic additional points which would also have made this closer (Griffiths stamp at Accies which should have seen red when they were down 1-0.... he remained on the pitch ,he won the free kick which equalized and they went on to win). Yes, we have to handle our own business better - but with balanced officiating the league this year would have been much, much closer than it was when they gifted Celtic the title
-
Other than taking it to court there is little the club can do about the cabal unless supported by the requisite number of other member clubs.

Yeah, it was. I had to actually check it myself.
