  1. It’s not legal in the UK though is it ?
  2. I had to do it the other day at about 1am UK time. Eventually got there
  3. I've heard many say that Bill. I always get a sense of hope in humanity when you have quality footballers who are even better as people. I know Rousseau won't want to heart this but Kevin Thomson is similar in his personal attributes - very humble, very much a family man who isn't arrogant or cocky at all - just competitive. I am sure many more are like that... but too many seem to think they are "billy big baws" when their talent level is no more than mediocre. I'm straying off topic - sorry
  4. Frank de Boer in midfield ?? Don't you mean Ronald ?
  5. I would suggest it makes sense for a home based Chairman no matter the circumstances - though it isn't essential.
  6. According to Andy Newport Clyde SSB also now reporting it
  7. I'm loving this thread.... every time you see a name pop up you'e like "ohhh man... how good was he" ? Where can I possibly fit Franny Jeffers into my team though
  8. Eric Caldow owned my local pub. One of the nicest, most genuine, humble guys you could ever hope to meet
  9. Not everyone is as old as you
  10. Steven or Stevens BD ? That would be close to my team too - very strong team. I would probably replace Ferguson with Gazza though.... and I would love to squeeze Mols into that team as I thought he was a fantastic striker - but I don't think he would work well with McCoist and how do you drop our higest ever goalscorer ? Loved Albertz but would also consider Neil McCann on the left hand side - he as a fine, fine player too. Would maybe have Kevin Thomson instead of Van Bronkhorst (that one specifically for you Rousseau)
  11. Replace van Bronkhorst with Hemdani and put Numan at LB
  12. Way too many to mention though... just off the top of my head.... 1, Pedro Mendes v them 2, Ehiogu overhead v them 3. Cooper's FK against Aberdeen (the rocket, which compo mentions) 4. McCoist overhead kick v Hibs in League Cup on return from broken leg 5. Any of Gazza'3 3 against Aberdeen to win 8IAR 6. McCann in league decider 7. Barrie McKay against them in the semi final 8. Whittaker's against Sporting Lisbon 9. Cooper in the Dryburgh 10. Ryan Jack's v them - not a great goal but a statement that we were on the way back Last, but not least...…. One for Rousseau..... Kevin Thomson's against them at Ibrox….
  13. Hateley's at Elland Road in the first minute of same game.... the whole of Britain's media has said we had no chance of putting them out due to them being English Champions... after us winning 2-1 at Ibrox a couple of weeks prior (the Main Stand was literally bouncing that night)…. up steps Hateley in the first minute to hit a stunning volley into the top corner.... Cue "The Goalie" breaking Cantona's heart time after time after time.... and then that McCoist diving header..... What a night !
  14. Where are they ? Why didn’t they apply for the job or, if they did, why did the club go with Graham ? I suspect the club went with David Graham because they felt he was the best candidate. I doubt his OO affiliations came into it and that the club merely felt he was the best candidate for the job. His affiliations with the OO doesn’t prevent him from carrying out his job. The one he is employed to do. i think you’re reading far more into his OO background than needs be - and I, personally, think you are significantly overplaying what impact his OO affiliations will have on the remainder of the support. Indeed, his experience in the OO will give him a particular insight into how to combat the add-ones in some of our songs and how to reach out to that element of our support
  15. I’m not being obtuse at all - indeed, I’d say it’s you who is being obtuse. You say there are plenty of bluenoses who could do this job but, as yet, still haven’t been able to suggest anyone. who are these candidates and why are they better than David Graham ? I’m not saying there aren’t any but we also don’t know if any of them would be as good as David Graham at the job.
  16. I’d be pretty sure that, just like every other appointment at the club, Gerrard simply wants the best person in the role. And none of us yet know if that is David Graham or not.
  17. Being well educated doesn’t mean well versed in PR matters. I’m well educated... but don’t have the requisite PR skill set for the job. I’ll ask again, who are these bears that are suitable for the role, with the appropriate skill set and why didn’t they apply in the first place ? To merely suggest there are without so much as a name doesn’t make it so. Our club is inclusive. To exclude David Graham because he’s in the OO would make us non-inclusive. Would you have wanted to reject Dave King’s cash if he were in the OO ??
  18. Aye but do they also come with the requisite PR skill set ? who are these bluenoses waiting to step in and why didn’t they apply for the position in the first place ?
  19. The full statement is on Twitter. Cue the Tims using this as precedence. Or.... wonder if Celtic offered bribes/donations to the Highland league to make this decision ?
  20. Whist I understand that perspective.... I personally would be prepared to take a pay cut if it meant that nobody was going to be losing their job. Better we ALL survive than look after just myself. For balance, not everyone has that luxury to be even able to take paycuts. I saw yesterday that Johan Djourou and Alex Song both refused paycuts at FC Sion..... both played for Arsenal, Song played for Barcelona... you would like to think that they aren't hurting financially, and you would also like to think that they are receiving a fairly decent wage - without knowing their financial situation I struggle to see why they wouldn't think of the greater good rather than themselves - but, as I said, I don't know their financial situation. And on the flip side of those two, back to Hearts, Dikamona cancelled his contract with Hearts..... got lambasted on social media.... only for him to clarify that he did it to help the club. He cancelled his contract to save the club money and would be willing to re-sign with Hearts, should they want him, after this all blows over (if you believe him of course and I will give him the benefit of the doubt).
  21. Stendel has offered to work for free. Very magnanimous of him. Bravo
  22. Have to be honest, I thought his article was fairly balanced. Aside from calling for a "jobs for the boys" at the end.
  23. Is that based on his professional CV or his background as a DUP member/OO member ? Genuine question as I don't know what his background in media and PR is. If his background in media and PR is strong then surely it is a good thing, particularly as we would have someone who understands the issues Rangers face as a club. If his background in media and PR isn't strong then I would be inclined to agree. Do you know his background - I certainly don't ?
  24. I read earlier that he wouldn't become the majority shareholder - that King wasn't looking to sell his shareholding and that there would be a new share issue.
  25. Thought it was excellent too.... here it is in full, in case folks can't get access to the site (not usually done as we give the main site the hit) : https://rangers.co.uk/news/club/rangers-position-impact-of-coronavirus-on-scottish-football/ RANGERS are continuing to monitor the ongoing situation regarding Coronavirus and its impact on football at all levels. I reiterate Steven Gerrard’s comments this morning that football is secondary to the health and well-being of the citizens of the United Kingdom. Life is precious and as a society, we must endeavour to do everything we can to protect the most vulnerable in our community. As a club, we will continue to follow government guidelines and advice relating to the health and safety of all members of staff. It is our firm view that this season’s league competition (2019/20) is only complete when all 38 games are played by all teams. For the avoidance of doubt, we believe that final standings can only be confirmed when all games have been completed, not before. Any attempt to finish the season with a significant amount of games still to play, impacts upon the integrity of sport in Scotland. Furthermore, we are strongly opposed to playing games behind closed doors. Rangers fans have stuck by our club in the darkest of times. Their loyalty will not be forgotten and they will not be left behind. We are cognisant of the uncertainty surrounding the future of many businesses and peoples jobs because of a potential lengthy extended break. We must be mindful that football goes well beyond the result of a match. Football brings us all together, it provides countless people with a livelihood and we will work to ensure no one runs roughshod over people’s lives. We will continue to maintain a watchful eye on the decisions of footballs governing bodies. Let me reassure the fans that we will not be found wanting in this situation. Rangers FC Managing Director, Stewart Robertson
