Why would Rangers be taken into administration before the tax case? I don't believe that the directors of a company can put the company into administration just because they feel like it. Is the club unable to pay the debts due at the moment or over, say, the next 6 months? I'm also yet to be convinced that any potential HMRC debt would simply disappear just because the club went into administration before the conclusion of the case.

I'd agree with that.

You can't ban something because of a negative association with something that it has nothing to do with. they have nothing to do with football. The parades themselves seem to me to be well run and organised. It's the hangers-on that are the problem but that's not the fault of the Orange Lodges. They can't be held responsible for the general public who are not members. I still don't see any good reason for banning them.

Why should the parades stop?

So according to this guy, pre-packs may realise more for the unsecured creditors but it shouldn't be allowed because the creditors are getting stiffed. So which is it? Make up your mind.

Yeah, he had pled guilty to assault but was eventually found guilty of BOTP and sentenced to 8 months so he was punished.

Spending over 4 months in prison is hardly going unpunished.

Even if it's not covered by that legislation, vocal promotion is covered by sectarian BOP.

Interesting that he, and many other Celtic fans, are only coming out with this now that Celtic fans are being threatened with the new law. I don't recall any supporting TBB or TFIO. As for the general point he is making, I disagree. Should be people be allowed to say absolutely anything, no matter how offensive? I don't believe so. There has to be a line. It's where that line should be is the big question to me. People should not be allowed to praise terrorists who have killed and maimed innocent people in this country and we do not need free speech to allow this.

I'm surprised Companies House allowed him to register the names. I'm sure a quick call from the club will set them straight and the guy will be forced to change the names of the companies.

I recall that we had no net debt around 3 years after NIAR was over so their argument doesn't stack up.

Secretaries delete emails all the time. I've got 10s of thousands of emails but still delete as many as I can to make them more manageable on my laptop. It all depends on what the emails were and the reason for and timing of their deletion. I'm sure everyone would delete some emails when leaving a company.

It's fairly obvious why. He would not have been able to buy the club for £1 if he hadn't taken on the tax burden. It was factored into the price. Edit: the fact that he couldn't see that as a reason is another indicator of the bias of the programme.

There are people who work for BBC Scotland (non-Rangers fans) who confirm that there is a bias against Rangers within BBC Scotland.

Rangers fan MacMillan says Whyte claims 'disturbing'
Bluedell replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
John is a good guy but in this case he should not have said anything as it's in an area that he doesn't know what he is talking about. He should have been cleverer than to give quotes to the BBC as well.- 22 replies

It happens all the time.

Ah OK. Not appealing should always remain an option of course.
-
Yes. I was just posting it to let people know that they would not be able to see any formal record of it now if what the BBC has alleged is true.
-
I didn't see the interview. Did he really say that? If so, it raises some inetersting points: 1. It appears that he welcomes administration. Why else would you not appeal? 2. Administration is going to damage the club. I can't believe that someone would not try their hardest not to avoid it. 3. Why come out and say it? There's no way he should be doing that as it could prejudice the decision. He should be stickiong to the line that we believe that we will win, so much so that we will appeal if we lose. To say that you aren't going to appeal sends out the wrong signals and suggests that you expect to lose. 4. It goes against what was suggested to the RST. How much else of what he said was crap?

It looks like the BBC have totally burned their bridges with the club this time. There can be no way back for many years. One of the downsides of this is that Radio Clyde are going to be beneficiaries.

Q. Iâ??ve checked the Disqualified Directors Register and the person I am interested in is not on the register â?? what does this mean? A. This could mean one of the following three things: *the person is not and has not been disqualified; *the person was disqualified in the past but the disqualification order has since lapsed (it is a legal requirement of the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986 that details of lapsed disqualification orders are deleted from the register); *the person is disqualified but we have not yet received official notification from the courts or the Insolvency Service.

I've got a vague recollection that it's someone in the States, but I've never paid any attention to it so couldn't say for sure.
