  1. What do people think of this "knock out" format? I know it was a compromise born out of Covid, but I have enjoyed all 4 ties immensely. Just wonder if it destroys some of the negativity of the two leg approach??
  2. Not according to their manager. I seem to recall him saying something to the effect - No players from this club should be seen outside after a defeat from Rangers. In any case, this was not about 8 individuals who got bored with Holby City and decided to pop out for a pint! It was 8 professional footballers who collectively made a decision to go drinking in pubs in Aberdeen city centre, flagrantly breaking club rules and bubble arrangements!
  3. Having watched the game on RTV last night, although the tempo dropped in the last half hour and the play became sloppy, I most certainly cannot lay the blame on the 4 players introduced at that stage. Arfield and Davis, in particular ,were neat and tidy in possession. Itten was lively enough and could have been awarded a penalty. Roofe is clearly way short of match fitness, but he has good feet and will clearly be an asset to our type of play. He was almost wiped out by their CB with a horrendous challenge but dusted himself down and got on with it. I saw no attitudinal problems at all. All 4 will play their part during a long season.
  4. Agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment. Especially for an over inflated bloater like McLean.
  5. Is it just me? Or does that joint action statement of Petrie's reek of back slapping cronyism? We echo the sentiments of CFC's statement and commend the club's swiftness in opening a disciplinary investigation. Are they having a laugh? Where was the investigation into Griffiths behaviour a week before? They have hung Bolingoli out to dry. Lennon already stated he will find it difficult to play for club again. I just cannot imagine the same empathy being handed out if this had been one of our players! Nae chance!
  6. Alan Stubbs also informed Kheredine at PQ there is no reason why Sellick cannot achieve 10 AND make CL group stages. But that was before Bolingoli dropped his bollock. ?
  7. On Wednesday evening, I would settle for the execution of one particular Barbour jacket wearing PQ toady, a renowned "football historian" with a penchant for Northern Soul. Put to the sword after his beloved team has, of course.?
  8. Like most others, it is a toss up between Goldson & Helander. I have went for Helander in the end due to the fact he has played no competitive football for so long. Impressive 90 mins all things considered. With the 4 CB's who have played pre season and 2 competitive games so far, I think we look as strong in central defence than we have for some time.
  9. Made me wonder as well. So much so, after reading the club's partnership announcement I thought I would download the Go Radio app. There is a nightly 90 min Go Radio football show. I missed tonight's, but thought I'd have a listen to last night's offering. Nearly fell off my chair. A phone-in format, hosted by none other than Shortbread's Big Dick Gordon, with BT Sport's Stephen Craigen riding shotgun! There is also a female presenter but she appears to do little more than thank people for calling. The hot news was Rangers had just confirmed the signing of Roofe. Dick, through gritted teeth asked Craigen to list the qualities he would bring. Stephen duly obliged via a brief synopsis of his previous clubs. We then had ONE Gers fan on the line to give his views. Apparently this fan was with us through the dark days, so an ideal opportunity for both to mention days out to outposts Brechin, Stranraer et al. Excruciating stuff! Dick then informed us, of another possible deal breaking for Cedric Itten. He pronounced his name with some weird Allo' Allo' accent that left the lady presenter impressed by his French Oral skills. Craigen pronounced categorically Rangers would not have 4 strikers. Quickly the subject move on to the "Are Bournmouth a bigger club than Rangers? debate and I gave it up! I would have thought a new innovative Glasgow Radio Station would have been able to ditch the old Scottish hacks that plague PQ, BT, Premier etc. Clearly not. A Partnership? Makes one wonder...??
  10. But surely the Rectum has the freedom of the city? Both him and Toady would surely be savouring the Tannadice atmosphere. I hear it was very similar to the infamous "Sell Out Saturday" in August 2014?
  11. Would agree entirely with Tsb. I braced myself before hand by finger hovering over the mute button ready for the usual string of pysh from the Sky Rangers haters. Really pleased they have ditched that supercilious tw*t Commons. Like you I thought Fletcher was a breath of fresh air, no agenda and a really good analyst as well. Great to see two ex Rangers as well in Boyd & McCoist. Best of all, however, no Andy (the tramp) Walker on co-commentary. Hopefully no more of his "impartial" commentary on all things Rangers!
  12. Balagun for me as well. We have won a watch with this guy. Strolled through the game. His composure, reading of the game, interceptions and distribution were classy. Looks like a good partnership with Goldson at the back. Further forward Aribo & Kent were also very good.
  13. Am I correct in thinking the same Stefan Bienkowski has also penned some unflattering & inaccurate Rangers match reports on the PQ website in the past? ?
  14. Absolutely spot on. You can imagine the fans reaction after being pumped 9 - 0 at home. The club backed him and the transformation is quite remarkable. Their counter attacking football is a joy to watch. Contrast that to Watford who's reputation for sacking managers is renown. They appoint Pearson when rooted at bottom of the league then sack him with 2 games to go when 3 points outside relegation zone! Sheer lunacy. You reap what you sow. No sympathy. ?
  15. Yes I agree with those sentiments. Would only wish him my best. Taking a look at Lille though, I would have thought if he is aiming for the top this is a slightly strange move. Their squad is almost entirely made up of French players or French Africans apart from a couple of Eastern Europeans. No South American or even Spanish players. Club has won La Ligue once before. Little real European pedigree either, although I accept they have been in CL. Average home crowds less than 30 thousand. I think he could do better but maybe he's had enough of the Glasgow fishbowl! However, I somehow doubt he will get the adulation from a Lille crowd that matches anything near what he got at Ibrox!
  16. Hi Everybody. This is my first post on here. Joined at the beginning of the week. Can I just say what an absolutely fantastic thread this is. Very informative, topical and a fantastic insight into the flagrant hypocrisy of a so called public service broadcaster to serve the licence fee payers of Scotland and beyond with a totally biased anti Rangers agenda. I can endorse Bill's comments above that this thread is one of the reasons I decided to sign up! I have one or two Rangers mates abroad who I "put right"from time to time on certain individuals who work at PQ. All my information has been gleaned from this thread which I really enjoy keeping up to date with. I firmly believe there would be much to gain from trying to spread the word more widely on the corruption, bias and misinformation PQ spread on Rangers FC! Can I convey my thanks to all the great contributers on Gersnet. As well as making some very eloquent and informative posts, I also enjoy the dark humour of many of the posters! Keep up the great work!
