  1. I voted No, currently and collectively there are 19 of us. We hope. It’s a variant of faith and requires no actual evidence or coherent analysis, merely a belief that if we do nothing our malfunctioning manager will ‘come good’. By what means, none of us knows. Bold and decisive action is terrifying for us and must be put off until such time as either the redeeming miracle turns up or the situation gets so bad that it’s safe to be judgemental. Or, maybe we think 4 league games into the season is too early to condemn the poor bloke.
  2. Ah. Thanks so much for the information @26th of foot I like to keep abreast of "new faces" on BBC Scotland. The article had a neutral tone. Nice to know there is the occasional token Bluenose on their payroll!
  3. That little tyke really needs to be called to order. His disgraceful written piece on website before the game was akin to a PSV blogger. His anti Rangers bias on TV commentary against Servette was loaded with reminders on how bad our last seasons CL group games broke all records. He also had the temerity to include Celtic when referring to Scottish club co - efficiency improvements! (wtf?) I'm sick of the number of times in commentary he mentions the 2016 cup final when Hibs are involved. Also, I noticed a new name in this mornings BBC Sports website. A guy called Richard Winton wrote a piece Rabbi Matondo turning the tables for Rangers and himself. Unlike most of the bigoted anti Gers bile produced by PQ, it was reasonably factual article free from their usual bias. Any info on him @26th of foot ?
  4. Sifting through the Beeb Shortbread Sports App yesterday I came across an article "Rangers in CL Qualifying: PSV carry old and new threats". Time for revenge. The article boldly stated. What followed was an in-depth summary of the PSV squad, prefaced by a recap of 12 months ago. GVB v RVB. The latter left after winning a cup stating personal reasons. GVB was ejected after a CL campaign so bad that it broke all records. Vastly experienced Peter Bosz now in charge and he knows how to win games at Ibrox. He has PSV buzzing. Destroyed Sturm Graz last round. Tillman returns to Ibrox but not as Rangers fans hoped. The 1988 EC winners have only lost one match at home in 22 games. Extremely dangerous tie for Beale's side. Now, my assumption was this article had been penned by some Dutch PSV blogger. Scrolling back up to see who penned the article, shock! horror! None other than LIAM McLEOD. PQ's new cheerleader clearly behind all Scottish clubs quest for glory. Except for one of course. Absolutely disgusting article, the venom drips from every sentence!
  5. Very eloquently summarised by @26th of foot. Sutherland was in a high state of elation at HT. Just couldn't quite hide his expression of glee while he cross examined the ex-Rangers pairing of McCann & Hutton. Gloatingly enjoying both ex-players criticism of the first half performance. Cue full time. Sutherland's balloon had clearly burst, but the full time result from Austria soon inflated his ego once more. McCann, rather despairingly, claimed "Rangers just need more time to get it right on the training ground after Morton on Saturday". Sutherland pounced "There is no time! They play on Tuesday!" was his delighted squeal. PQ will continue to hum the Jagger/Richards penned Chris Farlowe No1 hit from 1966 (Rangers, Rangers, Rangers you're) Out Of Time!
  6. I have to admit that when I saw the same XI walk out for the 2nd half I thought we were done for. Switching Cifu and Raskin into wide pressing roles made a huge difference to our play. The Swiss seemed to lose their way completely and it nullified their FB's who were having a field day. Moving to a back 3 with the introduction of Sterling also seemed to help. Glad to see us through to collect that £5m. Still think we'll be better in the EL Groups with the higher seeding. CL still seems a bridge too far for this side currently.
  7. Many apologies. I thought ko was 7:45. Missed the start of match!
  8. Just a quick reminder to the Tamondo Resurrection Loyal itching for him to undertake a starring role in Servette tomorrow. night. He's not in the CLQ's squad! 😭😭😭
  9. Only in the world according to Kenny Miller. Contracted to 2025. Injury prone. Like O'Halloran before him, saves his best for games against Rangers. His affiliations likely to lean elsewhere in any case. And if that's not enough, we ain't gonna be held to ransom by the spoon burners for an inflated fee. In summary, one of the worst suggestions so far in this thread imo.
  10. Thanks for penalty updates @weebluedevil Better service than PQ! 😁👏
  11. Is there much between them quality wise? Hadn't read previous posts so didn't realise Swiss were down to 10!
  12. As per my post yesterday, after pre season close. I'll try to remain optimistic. In summary: SPFL Champions? It's certainly possible. I do believe we can run them close. We must sustain the winning mentality against the others, which we did largely last season after MB's appointment. We certainly have better attacking players though doubts remain on our defensive fragility. CL / EL hopes? Another EL run is possible. CL qualification is in the balance. May just come too soon in terms of new squad players bedding in. Domestic Cups? I disagree with the notion they are unimportant. We need to win 1 or both of these. In probability it means beating that Mhob at S/F or Final stage. Capturing these engenders a successful winning mentality. Players want silverware. Success breeds success. Failure in this respect, just piles on more agony, if we don't win then we know who will! One final point. We all must hope for a season where serious injury to players is minimal. The injury plague was unbelievable in the last one. Look across at our rivals. McGregor for a while and C-Vickers at the end of the season. I can't recall many more. It could make a huge difference.
  13. Leave it as it is. We all know and love it as it is. Thanks to @Rousseau in advance for your excellent administration!
  14. Having watched today's game, like nearly all other posts on here, it was a frustrating afternoon. However, I have just reflected on all three of the interviews above and the honesty and positive vibes that came from all 3. First up, Dessers, who states he is not nearly match fit yet and explains why. He sports a lovely black eye for his efforts. There is clearly much more to come from him. Butland also puts a very positive spin on the game and says how much he enjoyed it. Lastly Beale explains how the game plan was hijacked by late call offs to CB's. We also finished the game without a CB! The most important message for me was all three confirmed it was a pre season test, deliberately set against high quality opposition. As supporters, sometimes we expect too much too soon. I get a vibe of real togetherness in the squad, there are early signs of increased squad quality. All seem eager to embrace the challenge ahead. I, for one, will try to remain positive. I really am looking forward to this one. Let us hope it's special!
  15. Neither can I. Might as well get a couple of Gersnet Polls on the go. 1) Should we sack Beale before season starts? Yes / No 2) If it's YES then draw up list of better coaches for second poll. Gallardo. Poch. Pep. etc. Oh, aye and Arteta, Ferguson & McInnes (need a few ex players who know the club) Need to move fast though. Season starts in 8 days! 😬
