I think that's the way it should be, Gazza. But everyone needs to put there hands together in a big way for Davie Weir whenever he does go. If only he had arrived sooner. I've so much admiration for him as a pro and as a committed Rangers man. (See, it's not all criticism)

So it's unanimous then. We're all agreed that Kris Boyd is an excellent goalscorer and better in the Rangers team than out of it. All agreed? No dissenters? The ayes have it then. Case closed.

Not for me. Some will say he could have coaching role but I believe he wants to play for another two seasons at least. Either play him or replace him. Davie Weir won't relish sitting in the wings and I don't blame him. Better for him he finds another club who will give him a game every week. Go with our thanks Davie Weir.

Rangers does not have a chairman with a backbone. Murray doesn't care about any image but his own. We all know this to be true. So with the greatest respect (genuinely) what is the point of going to such length to say what needs to be done if it is going to depend on a chairman having qualities that David Murray so obviously lacks, utterly.

But there's no doubting Boyd's ability - I've counted the goals.

The day before the game, Boyd was ill with a viral infection and wasn't going to be fit to play. That might be taken into account.

Was he really? I suppose he must have been if he scored twice as many goals.

Yet I can remember none of those managers trying very hard to keep him and Rangers weren't exactly having to fight off competition for his signature last summer, were they? Miller isn't the first substandard player who has earned a lot of unjustified money on the back of an unjustified reputation.

No, the criticism of Miller is based on highly prejudicial evidence gathered over many years that he's really a very poor footballer indeed.

I know people who believe implicitly in intelligent design and are prepared to argue long and hard to defend it. It makes no sense, has no foundation in fact or evidence, and is based in fairly equal measure on prejudice and ignorance. Unfortunately that won't stop them from doing everything they can to promote it. Perhaps the critics of Boyd aren't so very different.

Hopefully, by the summer, Murray isn't still wasting Ibrox oxygen because that's the only way we'll see the back of sad old Walter.

It seems that behind almost all criticism of Boyd is a belief that he could somehow be more of a player if he would only adopt a different attitude. Wrong, he is what he is, that's all folks. If you're going to drop him you need to say who you would put in his place - bearing in mind that you only have the current squad to choose from. It's really that simple. Who would you play instead of Boyd? Then please explain how the team would be better off without Boyds goals this season because if there is one sure thing in all of this it's that not one of our current alternatives would have scored as many goals as Boyd.
