Sounds to me like they're trying to invite offers for the wee arsehole. Hope they don't get any good offers in & have to keep him.

Maybe an idea if we had all started on 0 points by creating new predictor accounts.

Here's the Champions in pictures thanks to the new forum feature Frankie added:- :me: :pm: :sp: :lm: :sd: :kt: :kb: :nn: :sn: :sw: :an:

They're certainly a classier team than Hearts. They've been Croatian Champions the past 4 seasons in a row & a total of 11 from the past 14 seasons, as well as winning the Croatian Cup for the past 3 years. They're the sort of side that can put teams like Ajax out of the UEFA Cup.

I thought Zagreb were a quality side. Totally blew Hearts away with their passing ability & pressure on the ball. Even after Etto went off injured, the 19 yr old full back they brought on to replace him was a class act. Their Chilean player Morales has some shot on him as well.

Maybe Frankie will deduct those 5 points from the final minileague tallies. :box:

Not at all Barry. I decided a wee while back to give the discussion of religion and politics in relation to football as much of a body-swerve as possible. I'm much happier letting those who revel (or is it wallow?) in the religious & politically fueled subjects & discussions just get on with it themselves. I'll chime in here and there, but in general I'd rather just discuss football on football forums.

It stinks of BS to me. Trabzonspor are quite a big club with some quality players, but it's still not one of the top 2 in Turkey who are the one's you might think would maybe pay those sort of wages.

So it's looking like we've got a good chance of making pot 2 if Fiorentina & Atletico do the business in their home legs. That'll do nicely.

It is a moot point, as Ian Ferguson has no chance at the moment. When the PLG episode went pear shaped & Burley was doing well with Hertz after a short spell in charge, plenty Bears would have taken Burley as our manager. How many would say the same now? A fair number of our support think Craig Levien would be a good choice, but not me. He doesn't have the right temperament. I don't see a seasoned, experienced manager in the whole SPL (including someone like the mopes new manager) that I'd rather see taking Walter Smith's place (when the time comes) before Ally McCoist. I'm interested in who you think would be a better choice for Walter Smith's replacement Craig, realistically.

Not sure of the specifics, but he may have only became a full-time assistant manager a year or so before getting the manager's job, since he was still playing for them in the 05/06 season. I'm assuming he spent a couple of seasons as a player/part-time assistant. Anyway, I see your point.

I'll check the settings in Firefox. I've probably got it set to not remember any of these types of things for security.

They're no longer an SPL team, but it was ICT. I reckon it was a good decision to knock back that offer though.

I've always found the session timeout a real PITA & ticking the 'remember me' box when I log in never makes any difference. I've just learned to always select & CTRL C my reply text before hitting the submit button, as I'm often logged out by the automatic session timeout by the time I've written a reply.

Ian Ferguson was only appointed Manager of that little diddy outback team last September & has no other coaching experience at all AFAIK. Ally McCoist on the other hand, joined the Scotland coaching staff under Walter Smith in 2004 & as we all know, left the Scotland staff along with Smith to become his assistant manager at the Gers in Jan 2007. During his time coaching Scotland & Rangers as Walter Smith's assistant, McCoist has been offered at least one SPL managerial position. There's also the matter of Smith saying Ally was fully in charge of the 07/08 Scottish Cup winning team. There were some poor performances & times we had some luck in that Cup run, but lets not forget that Paul Le Guen had us papped out of both Cups before he left midway through the previous season. McCoist has essentially served a 5 year managerial apprenticeship under Walter Smith and gained a huge amount of experience along the way; international squad coaching & assistant managerial experience; 2 & a half years of coaching & very high levels of assistant managerial experience with Rangers including a run to a UEFA Cup final, winning an SPL title, 2 Scottish Cups & one League Cup. Ian Ferguson has a bit of catching up to do on someone like Coisty, since for all intents & purposes Fergie's lagging by about 4 years & a vast amount of experience.

I won't be counting on that xtra CL money we'll get until after the second leg. None of us imagined we'd go out to Lyon & win 3-0, but we did. Strange things can happen in football.
-
The only contract he'll be getting is one that involves him being shot in the head.
-
Would much prefer Ally McCoist. Ian Ferguson? Thanks, but no thanks.

Caldwell's goal was genius!!

Fabregas meant that btw!!

I probably wont go that far either, but there's tons of Celtic fans where I live & it would be a cracking wind-up. Could probably get last season's Arsenal top for buttons.

Or Anderlecht to shock Lyon.

Think I want an Arsenal shirt.
