  1. Agree. We don’t spend big on players, have a weak position year on year financially and sold Aribo for far less than expected. As much as we all want to see this 25 million for Bassey - it’s not happening.
  2. Dave Vos also follows him if that is an endorsement in any way!
  3. He seems to have a number of high profile European football journalists following him. Including the likes of Honingstin and Age Fjortoft among his 100k+ followers. I wouldn’t have posted it on here without giving the account a quick check over but I suppose credibility is subjective when it comes to these things so people can make up their own minds.
  4. If the tweet I saw is the source referred to, then the opinion was based on a single sample transfer of Haller bought from West Ham.
  5. I don’t think any media is like the Scottish media. It’s unique in its disingenuous and consistently wrong approach. So far this window Greek and German reporters have been spot on about our transfers.
  6. Dutch media reports Ajax had preliminary talks with Bassey. looks a go-er https://t.co/mb6rMIIJI1
  7. I seen a tweet from heart and hand saying that, but with the greatest respect to them they have no idea on how Ajax conduct transfer business.
  8. Someone statto like on Twitter showed we had one of the worst records of ball retention at offensive throw ins and a poor record defensively. A dedicated throw in coach (Austin McCann does this at villa) can be worth it.
  9. Brighton can pay us a lot for him and pay him a lot of money. That’s what matters these days sadly. Ajax would be a good move for him from a footballing perspective and no doubt they could sell him to a elite club for 60 million plus after a couple of years. Ajax just spent 30 million on Berjwin from Spurs and selling Lisandro Martinez to Man U for big money. So they have the means.
  10. Given our financial situation qualification for champions league this season would make a massive difference to us moving forward. But as always we need to win the league.
  11. Pleased with Matondo signing. if we can add Tillman and a loan striker to cover Roofes lack of availability I’d say that’s a decent window. Adam Armstrong from Southampton for example. don’t see any major outgoings, maybe a few squad players like Katic, Kelly, Helander may go. But don’t necessarily need to be replaced.
  12. If we have lost out on fulgini no doubt that’s why we have been linked with Tillman as an alternative. Feeling god about some of the links coming out at the moment
  13. Been linked with Malik Tillman. 20 y/o USA full international currently at Bayern. Attacking midfield. I’m guessing this would be a loan. Looks very similar to Lowry/Aribo from what I could Google/YouTube highlights. link from daily mail.
  14. Matondo for 3 million euro is a great deal if done as reported.
  15. According to German journo on Twitter matondo fee agreed with Schalke and we just need to agree personal terms with the player. Expecting talks to be don’t but early next week. Exciting prospect that one another young British talent. The French lad seems a bit further away. Unfortunately farm town clubs in France can demand the earth for players.
  16. That served us well in 2012.
  17. Thanks Joe and all the best. Enjoyed watching him play. bit premature mind Southampton not announced him yet 😂😂
  18. And if we had to pay any penalty fees to get out of the ange homecoming tour shitshow
  19. Rumoured fee for Matondo is 2 million which sounds a steal as Schalke paid 11 million for him.
  20. Don’t know much about matondo but what I have googled looks an exciting player with plenty of potential
  21. This is a mystery to me. Our best players (Tav, Kent, Morelos) perform just as good, if not better in the big European stage than in Scotland. So the domestic league is poor so teams don’t want to buy argument doesn’t really stand up if the players perform against top quality opposition. Add in the fact Italian teams look to be paying decent fees for Doig of Hibs and Ferguson of Aberdeen goes to show that value can be found in our league. Liverpool bought Ramsey and Everton paid big for Patterson.
  22. Romano on Twitter reporting Aribo to Saints a done deal. Announcement later today. Rangers review seem to think we have a decent sell on fee. Fingers crossed for a big season in the EPL for Joe and a 40 million move next summer.
  23. Imo the fact we make losses every year in our accounts will encourage buying clubs to ‘lowball’ us in terms of offers. They don’t have the same financial restrictions as us. We are perhaps perceived as weak financially. the fact we seem to have accepted far lower than expected for Aribo up front will perhaps only encourage more ‘lowball’ offers. Time will tell. The club do have a plan with transfer strategy it’s just hard to believe in it from the outside.
  24. Class player but struggled with injury last season..
  25. Rangers review reporting Hagi out until after the world Cup. I wonder if the loan Cammy mentioned earlier in the thread is a short term #10 to replace Aribo until Hagi comes back. McAtee from City been mentioned.
