Ajax has reached an agreement with Rangers FC and Calvin Bassey for the transfer of the defender to Amsterdam. The English-Nigerian player has signed a contract with Ajax that will take effect immediately and will run for five seasons, until June 30, 2027. Ajax will pay a transfer fee of EUR 23 million to Rangers FC. Including variables, that amount could increase to EUR 26.5 million. https://english.ajax.nl/articles/ajax-and-rangers-fc-reach-agreement-for-calvin-bassey/ Incredible. Well done Ross Wilson & Co. Bought Ben Davies and still have 20 million left. Mental.

Disappointing but not surprising. A greasy chip van outside the ground can produce better fare that a massive multi million pound catering firm. Standard.

BBC Scotland and Rangers to resume coverage

Still find his hatred for us bizarre considering he enjoyed the blue pound for many years. A very odd chap. -
BBC Scotland and Rangers to resume coverage

The onus is on the BBC here to prove that they can report responsibly and accurately without levels of extreme bias. Hopefully they can be professional. Many Rangers supporters like myself are forced to pay a licence fee to fund thier coverage. -
Also think we need a striker, cant really rely on Roofe. A loan would be good or an experienced pro like Defoe.

He spent much of last season injured and couldn't play more than 1 game a week when he was fit. It was time to cut the net. Agree with @Rousseau a LB to challenge Borna for the spot is a must. A young chap with potential would be worth the risk here like the Isreali boy Leidner.

Champions League Play-off round Draw: USG/Rangers v Monaco/PSV

New manager for this season and two best players returned from loan to parent club Brighton. We have a good chance here -
One of the problems supporting an under performing team like Sheffield United the past few years is very few players get pass marks. Most of the squad are playing far beneath themselves for whatever reason. Davies will be a good signing for us I have no doubt. With him on board we are stacked at CB but really need a LB to cover Bornas periodic bad spells.

Yes we will miss him, but he has only played about 50 games for us. We would miss Tav, Goldson, Kent or Morelos more. We will also miss Aribo especially on the European nights.

I don’t think they can. I think when there is an option to buy there is a contractual obligation for the parent club to accept a pre agreed fee. In any case I can’t see an elite club like Bayern being remotely interested in any of our players no matter how well they play. They are on a different level completely.

This is true and a massive problem. All 3 played a big part in the 55 year and all 3 were posted missing for most of last season. Our recruitment this summer seems to have focused on players who play for full seasons more often than not (yes footballers get injured, but there is a difference between picking up one off injuries and the issues Roofe and Jack have with knees and calf. Helander just very unlucky)
