    I made the mistake of forking out (and travelling 150 miles) for the Liverpool game last August. Needless to say I will not be making the same mistake again. I find a flag-raising SPL opener against Falkirk far more "mouth-watering" than a meaningless kick-about with Abu Dhabi FC.

    To be fair, the scepticism surrounding the club's potential reaction to the report is fair enough, and well-founded if the board's polite swatting away of We Deserve Better and every other well-intentioned fan-initiated idea is anything to go by. In addition, it is a fact that truly long-lasting change will remain a forlorn hope while our current custodian and CEO are at the club. I would take any promises these two make with a dumper truck of salt. But that's not to say no good can come of the report, nor that the creators should receive anything other than our thanks and admiration. Often the biggest step is getting the debate underway, hopefully STS will contribute to that.

    It will be interesting to see whether Ferguson can recapture something of his old form elsewhere, because having watched him these past couple of years I've become increasingly convinced he is in terminal decline (as a footballer).

    I would imagine the majority of Premiership clubs would have scouts at this tournament.

    Sounds like a good player. Unfortunately, he hasn't played against us either in the SPL or in Europe, so he'll slip under our scouting radar.

As S_A says, if they hadn't jumped into bed with Setanta's cash without thinking of the potential consequences, they wouldn't be in this mess. They are in no position whatsoever to tell people how to get out of it.

    The new England shirt is the best football strip I've seen for a very long time. Just plain white top, plain navy shorts, with a badge on them. No fancy patterns, stripes, shapes, trims, or any of that shite. Very classy indeed. The Hearts top is bogging. What's the point of those white bits? Would plain maroon really be so awful?

    Anyone know if we're going to get a Premiership side to Ibrox this summer? We've had Tottenham, Arsenal, Middlesborough, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent years.
