  1. Absolutely nail on head. Money has ruined football. When I was a kid I was obsessed not only with Rangers but with the game as a whole. I would read as many match reports in the paper as I could, and for hours pore over every score and league table from all the leagues, Premier to Third Division to Highland League and English scores, Anglo-Italian Cup, the lot. Would never dream of missing Match of the Day and had scores of football strips, Newcastle, Scotland, Brazil, PSG, Ajax, Holland, France, bloody Bolton at one point. Then money came along, and the discussions we used to have in the playground while swapping stickers (never did get my hands on Isaac feckin' English of Partick) were replaced by whose owner has the most billions. Good honest pros playing for the joy of the game were replaced by repulsive, greedy, cheating scum like Ronaldo. The Premiership became the Premiershite. Overpriced, overhyped, soulless, sanitised dross full of players with little or no passion for their club but plenty for their multi-millionaire lifestyles. Just last week I had my eyes assaulted by an article on Salomon Kalou's £100k drinks bill for his 24th birthday party, when the rest of us (who are still in a job) barely have enough for a handful of games a season to fund such lifestyles. No-one can break into the Top Four through developing a group of young, talented players any more, you need the owner of fecking Abu Dhabi to pump limitless amounts of cash into the club. I despise what football has become these days, and am now not a football fan, merely a Rangers supporter. If it ain't Rangers I'm simply not interested. If I want to see sport played in the right spirit for the right reasons I'll watch the cricket or the rugby, or go and watch a lower or non-league game. Even with Rangers however, as the OP says, you look for the latest news and if it isn't t@ig propaganda by Spiers and friends it's yet more breakdown of the latest club accounts. We won a fantastic against-all-odds Double last year and it was immediately ignored in favour of the bheasts' pathetic manager hunt and yet more (yawn) sensationalist headlines over our balance sheet. As much as I am concerned with the continuing financial sustainability of the world's most successful football club, it's the 11 men on the park and the jersey they wear that I support.
  2. Interesting, I never knew that. I do know that Spiers' publishers slashed his advance on the Le Guen book by half after it was widely ignored as a result of a campaign by Rangers fans on FF (andy_steel take note). A similar fate befell 'It's Rangers For Me', so I find it hard to believe Esplin would have willingly jeopordised his own royalties merely to "expose" B.O. Bhoy.
  3. The kind of uber-deluded bheast that falls hook line and sinker for every Sellik-minded myth down the years: McGeady nearly signed for Bayern for £15m, Boruc is a £10m player, Celtic bid for Crespo, Larsson was better than McCoist, "It's what Tommy would've wanted", the Bouncy is sectarian, Parkhead is better than Ibrox, they are TGFITW etc. etc. etc.
  4. FPMSL :D Arsenal will humiliate them, particularly at the Emirates.
  5. It's ironic isn't it, fans during the glory days of the Advocaat era used to lament the lack of Scots in the team. Now we have a team full of them and we're shite
  6. I'm happy to lose my match preview virginity. Motherwell?
  7. Celtic fans were ridiculed mercilessly for their supposed paranoia in the 1990s. Look at them now - they virtually own the media. I can't remember the exact details but I believe the Daily Record were banished from Parkhead for a period after publishing their "Thugs and Thieves" front page about Celtic players' misbehaviour a few years back. One club in Glasgow stands up for itself, the other leaves it to the fans. The BBC petitions / protests are a decent start, it's just a pity the various Rangers-supporting groups and websites can't work together. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the BBC should be our number one target. A tainted, corrupt and utterly discredited organisation ran by Rangers-haters for Rangers-haters.
  8. McGregor wasn't without his on-field flaws last season and, while perhaps capable of the more outstanding saves, is not as reliable as Alexander IMO. He is also a ned and part of a lingering culture of indiscipline at the club that needs completely eradicated. Thirdly, despite all of the above McGregor is worth more in the transfer market than Alexander, therefore the only credible reason for putting McGregor back in the team is to get him in the shop window before Aug 31.
  9. I hope putting McGregor back between the sticks is a temporary move to get him punted before the transfer deadline. If it isn't Alexander should, and probably will, put in a transfer request. If this is a long-term decision then I just can't get my head round it.
  10. Seconded .
  11. I can't be the only one who saw the 4-0 scoreline, saw Neil Alexander sitting on the bench, and raised a smile. George Burley doesn't have a clue what he is doing. Totally out of his depth at international level.
  12. Pub brawling bastard.
  13. How do you explain the modern day phenomenon of Rangers fans introducing themselves with: "I'm a Rangers fan, but I'm no a bigot"?
  14. Nice one. Thought being an Italian-Scot he'd be a bheast. Just shows you. Always liked that Sbragia
  15. FPMSL. I've just accused you of being a condescending charlatan and you leave a post like that.
  16. Every team in world football, and I mean every team, has a moronic element amongst its support. However, only Rangers' moronic element seems to make it into the mhedia in this country. We're not asking for special treatment, all Rangers fans have ever wanted is parity. Spiers' "whataboutery" is merely a sinister vernacular tool to sweep anything Celtic fans do under that massive carpet of theirs.
  17. I've no doubt he keeps regular tabs on it. Hi Graham.
  18. Careful now, Spiers will accuse you of "whataboutery".
  19. Yeah think he's going to be Belgium manager. Top guy Advocaat, wasn't without his flaws with us but always like to see him do well. Manchester excepted (the bastard).
  20. I know Rangers have fallen a long way in the past 15 years, but Aberdeen's fall from grace has been a joy to behold. Jerel who?
  21. That's a pretty weak comeback even for you. Do you honestly believe by "self-loathers" I'm referring to those who fight? No, you were just trying to look smart but as usual you come across as a condescending charlatan.
  22. Barry saying what all Rangers fans have known for years. The SFA is an exclusive club for muppets and Rangers-haters.
  23. No club in the world has more self-loathers than Rangers.
  24. You won't read this in the Scottish press:- http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=134837 Vermin.
