I think Brown is one of those players, like Kevin Thomson (twice the player, half the price ), who does the dirty work without getting noticed, though I agree he is overrated. The decision - probably arrived at in Baird's Bar - to make him POTY a couple of seasons back was a complete farce. The difference with McGeady is he is so ineffectual in so many games yet is continually billed as a £15 million man inches away from a move to Bayern or the like. If that Celtic team was as good as the papers say they'd have romped last season's league by 20+ points. At least we know we're no great shakes (still better than that mhob mind).

Hearts 0 - 1 Rangers (Miller)

I know the mhdia in Scotland inflate the ability of all their hooped heroes (Hinkel was Beckenbauer when he signed), but Aiden McGeady is by a country mile the most overrated footballer in this country in all my years watching football. He's barely had one or two good games against us in 6 years. I used to love it when him and the Diving Jap were in the starting line-up against us. Chick Dung's performance when interviewing Wenger on Tuesday was toe-curling. I can't believe some people still think he's a Rangers fan. Only an Excuse say he is so it must be true

Aiden McGeady, the only "pyoor best player in the wurld" to receive NO bids for his services. Ever. None, nada, zilch. As hard as our p(h)ress tries.

Derek McInnes is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Dick Advocaat would be fairly high on my 'realistic' wishlist, but his past career points to him following the cash, which we don't have these days.

I can't be the only one who sees "£50k a week" and thinks "horseshit"?

I accept all your points except this one. Ian Ferguson was an assistant manager for 4 years before taking the top job at Queensland, "diddy outback" league or not

Not much else needs said. Karma for big mouth.

Eck signed some right shiters in his time, but for me he made some terrific signings in that 2004/05 season - Prso, Novo, Andrews, Waterreus, Buffel, Vignal, Kyrgyiakos. His best season signings-wise by a mile IMO. EDIT:- How could I forget Mr Boumsong.

Some of the sycophantic pish he was asked by our narrow-minded mhedia was frankly embarrassing. Question 1 from Chick Dung: "What did you think of the Parkhead atmosphere?" Question 2: "What did you think of Aiden McGeady's performance?" Question 3: "Do you think Aiden McGeady could play in the Premiership?" Jesus wept, we all paid for Dung to ask these questions. And the BBC propaganda operation was already in full swing last night on Reporting Scotland - Celtic were beaten 2-1 apparently

He has more managerial experience than McCoist. A bonus on the side would be he wouldn't pal up to the Sellick-minded like McCoist likes to.

Something I suspect Ferguson probably isn't. Di Canio is still running.

Well that was a laugh. What happened to Tony Nobody's "cunning plan"? What a feckin tool.

Ian Ferguson was perhaps the last of a dying breed. We are FC Pariah in Scotland these days, but Ian Ferguson had Rangers running through his veins and wasn't afraid to let people know. If the Rangers support were more like Ian Ferguson we wouldn't have capitulated so heavily to the Celtic-minded elite in this country. Come home whenever you like Fergie.

That music still takes me right back to Huistra equalising in Brugge, Durrant running away arms aloft in Marseille, Ferguson's goal in Bochum etc. etc. That Champions League run in 92/93 will never, ever be beaten for sheer emotion. Our run to Manchester didn't even come close IMHO.

Next time you feel ashamed or let down by our support..

Even accounting for BBC Scotland's allegiances, I would be pretty flabbergasted if it hadn't made it onto Sportscene. But we all know the coverage a Celtic title would have received. -

I would also suggest it's the first time Reporting Scotland has not shown the hoisting of the league flag on the Monday after the first day of the season. It was only after last season's Scottish Cup Final that I began to realise the full extent of the almost total Rangers blackout at the BBC. Unless we've been fighting or singing naughty songs. -
That is a very good post Frankie. Welcome to the world of Sit Down Shut Up Give Us Your Money football.
