  1. During 2003/04 I was convinced Burke was going to be a star for us, but ultimately he was one of those naggingly frustrating players who undoubtedly had something, but injuries and lack of confidence did for his Ibrox career. Which was a real shame because when he properly broke on to the scene during that season he was a real throwback to the old days of out and out wingers which you hardly see these days. I think he was the sort of player the fans were willing to come good, but in the end it wasn't to be, and selling him was probably best for both parties. I always liked him despite his inconsistency, and hope he finds success down south.
  2. At least Hearts put up a fight in one of their games, more than the rest did (including the bheasts).
  3. The peaks and troughs of European football. No better example than the Rangers.
  4. Guess which player's going to get a long-term injury at training tomorrow...
  5. The name would suggest Champions getting priority, something I think they should get. Seems strange they win the Bundesliga only to be hamstrung from the word go in the CL.
  6. Nah was just meaning they're underdogs like Artmedia, but just like the Slovakians they'll no doubt be a lot handier than many Bears will give them credit for. Even after they beat the bheasts 5-0 many still thought we'd pump them.
  7. If I'm being optimistic, Murray stepping aside is the precursor to major events in the coming weeks. Lots of rumours about his mate Traynor breaking a consortium bombshell in the near future. Watch and wait I suppose.
  8. This Romanian team will no doubt give us a game, very rarely a guaranteed 3 points in the Champions League. 9 points is very optimistic IMO, but we should still be aiming for that. I don't think it would be unambitious to be happy with 3rd and continued involvement in Europe via the UEFA Cup though.
  9. WTF is that?!?
  10. Don't know how - it's a picture of Eduardo's dive with "KARMA - it's a bitch" underneath.
Or so Sevilla are saying
  12. Urziceni is a town in Ialomiţa County, Romania, with a population of 17,090. Founded by Romanian shepherds, its name is derived from the word "urzică" (nettle). It was mentioned for the first time in a written document on 23 April 1596, during the reign of Mihai Viteazul. It gained in 1831 the status of market town and in 1895 the city status. For 117 years, it was the capital of Ialomiţa county (between 1716 and 1833). I knew that anyway like, just thought some on here would be interested.
  13. Can't really complain about that draw. We should be looking at 3rd at least IMO. Bet the Romanians are tricky though, remember Artmedia.
  14. Stuttgart AGAIN! 3 times in 6 years.
  15. Christ it's that chopper Taylor. Next year remind me to tune in at 5.20pm. Come ooooooonnnn.
  16. Anyone watching this? What a load of shite. It's a football tournament no the Oscars.
  17. You just knew this would come back to haunt the Muddleboard (for those unaware, when Kevin Thomson got injured last season the opening page of the Muddleboard was as above, but with Thommo lying on the turf).
  18. By contrast Pot 4 is full of, in relative terms, 'gimmes'. Fair play to Platini for trying to get teams from lesser countries involved. Nicosia please.
  19. You're a man after my own heart Andy. I'm only just getting back into the football after the Ashes, hardly have a clue who signed who during the summer.
  20. Far worse teams in Pot 4 than the German champs. Nicosia would do me nicely.
  21. I've waited 16 years to get Marseille again. On another note, I find it strange the German champions have been put into Pot 4. Kind've makes a mockery of the "Champions" League title.
  22. I think the Alex Rae episode was when I first woke up to the BBC.
  23. Another thing, this whole episode smacks of having the hand of the bheast all over it. I can just picture them in their dark rooms, e-mailing in in their droves. Perhaps the club themselves contacted UEFA as well. Dangerous game to play - do UEFA investigate every incident of alleged diving? There'll be a hell of a lot of it in a competition like the Champions League. What happens the next time Scott McDonald goes over like a sack of tatties in the SPL? Okay, we all know the answer to that last one. They have some brass neck that mhob.
  24. Incidentally I think that was the same referee who gave that ridiculous free-kick for Italy at Hampden.
  25. I detest diving, but with Celtic this really is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. What goes around and all that. They deserve everything they get, simple as that.
