  4. Police Scotland Meeting regarding match v Celtic 11 March, 2017 Club 1872 were again invited to attend the Police Scotland planning meeting with regards to Sunday’s fixture away to Celtic. Police Scotland will again have officers at bus parks to check legislation regarding alcohol on buses travelling to football matches is adhered to and to provide a visual deterrent against any possible anti social behaviour which may be a concern to local residents. This has proven worthwhile at recent games and Police Scotland felt it had been successful as travelling fans adhered to legislation concerning both alcohol and anti social behaviour. Due to recent issues with offensive banners and other items, the police will continue to take action against offensive material displayed at games. Anyone displaying items that can cause offence will continue to be at risk of arrest both during the game and retrospectively. It is prudent to point out that offensive material is not unique to slogans etc that may be deemed sectarian and can encompass anything that may cause offence. To prevent a repeat of the issues in the toilets at the last visit to Celtic Park, stewards will be situated at the entrances and exits of the toilets and a “one in one out” policy will adhered to. This shouldn’t slow down the time taken to use the facilities but it may cause a delay in entering the area and as such Police Scotland would ask for consideration to be taken by those held in the concourse areas while waiting. Police Scotland highlighted that the behaviour of the vast amount of Rangers fans at recent fixtures had been exemplary and despite a small number of highly publicised events which were carried out by a very small number of fans, they have been pleased with the conduct of the Rangers support at this fixture both at home and on our travels. Travel to the game may be hindered by traffic issues prominently to the south approaches and we would encourage those traveling by road to consider allowing additional time for their journey and check online for traffic updates on the morning of the game. The meeting contained a lot of positives and Police Scotland are confident that, yet again, the behaviour of our support will cause no undue concerns. 5. I think a lot of us have reservations about this appointment, mostly due to having never heard of the guy. But as you say he will have our full support. Where did you get the 60 applications from? If there were that many a good few would be at the level of experience of Caixinha I would think. Anyway he here now, time will tell.
  6. WE ARE ONE OF THE BIGGEST CLUBS IN THE WORLD !!!!
  7. Does your friend know if he had a return ticket?
  8. Everything fan should do this tour at least once imo
  9. How have the club got us in a bit of a mess? They offered a job to the best candidate in their eyes, he turned it down( all this according to the msm). What should they do, just offer it to someone they know will jump at it irrespective of talent & experience? These posts are in the wrong thread!!!
  10. Why would any fan take a blind bit of notice of what our worst ever manager had to say about the position of Director of Football?
  11. Pedro Caixinha is "very close" to becoming the new Rangers manager, according to Sky sources. The 46-year-old Portuguese, who is manager of Al-Gharafa Sports Club in Qatar, is awaiting the blessing of club President Sheikh Jassim Bin Thamer Al Thani before flying from the Middle East to Scotland. Caixinha and Rangers are confident the move will be finalised in the next few days, and Caixinha could be confirmed as Mark Warburton's successor later this week, before the Old Firm game with Celtic on Sunday.
  12. RANGERS Sky sources- Rangers DoF target Paul Mitchell has left his role as Tottenham head of recruitment & been placed on gardening leave. Sky sources also understand Paul Mitchell would consider the Director of Football role at @RangersFC.
  13. It was obvious that Wilson was not coming days ago. The board had moved on.
  14. Never noticed mysoginist leanings by Strachan, what makes you say that ?
  15. How does Club1872 investing in infrastructure increase fans control/having a say in the club? This is something that does not sit right with me, I believe that all monies should go toward increasing fan shareholding. I know Club1872 members have a vote.
  16. Scarfs are very good quality.
  17. Rangers always get the "home" dressing room. No change this time even though second name out.
  18. Nope because I don't know any. But to say that "The SNP detest Rangers and its support" is just plain daft paranoid nonsense. Even on here 30% said they would vote for them, why would any party not wish that support ? Loads of Rangers fans are members of the SNP, not me though.
  19. Mike Ashley is believed to be circling Rangers once more – this time with a view to taking over the club as he looks to win his long-running feud with Ibrox chairman Dave King. Newcastle United owner Ashley is ready to make another move for the Glasgow side, a purchase that would see him finally take control of his long-time target. But the Sports Direct billionaire is understood to be ‘shocked’ at the state of the club and is promising significant investment if a takeover deal can be struck. Ashley is opposed to working with King, who ousted him from the board two years ago – although Ashley remains a significant shareholder with just under nine per cent of the stock. A source has told Sunday People Sport that Ashley is ready to make a comeback and a purchase price of around £30million could seal the deal. The source said: “The current situation is unacceptable – Mike knows that. Rangers are set to finish behind Aberdeen and are more than 30 points behind Celtic. “He is prepared to invest but he will not work with the current owner, who he feels has done little for the club in the past two years.” This will not, however, affect his running of Newcastle — set to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking — as there are no regulations to prohibit the ownership of two clubs operating under different national associations. However, many Rangers fans will be enraged by the thought of the Sports Direct supremo being in charge of their club. Many fans still refuse to buy club merchandise because of the terms of the deal negotiated with Sport Direct that sees little money returned to Rangers from the sale of strips. The present regime were able to seize control thanks to the support of the vast bulk of the fans who will see Ashley's latest plan as a hostile takeover. Ashley is also held in disdain by many supporters due to his company's use of zero hours contracts.
