I believe we’ll need to get beyond the madness of Tory/Labour Governments before we begin to see any change in attitudes in Scotland. To see Rangers fans acting as advocates for the Tories/Labour is sickening. Or maybe we could actually do something as a support rather than use red herrings as an excuse to do nothing.

Rangers and BBC Scotland - Jim Traynor Interview Dear Member, Club 1872 commented yesterday on the disparity in coverage and comment on the issue of unacceptable behaviour but as our members and the wider fanbase are aware, there has been an ongoing issue with BBC Scotland for a much longer period of time. In discussions with Rangers on this topic we became aware that, as recently as this week, BBC Scotland had extensively edited an interview with Rangers spokesperson, Jim Traynor, which diluted the club’s position on the extent of the ongoing problem with Pacific Quay. We felt it would be helpful for supporters to hear more about the club’s position and what would have been articulated had BBC Scotland delivered a properly balanced news report on the subject. You can view an interview with Jim Traynor on the subject here: https://youtu.be/4IhlZ6aLgTQ Supporters have a role to play in ensuring that BBC Scotland start to treat our club fairly. We recently issued media guidance to help in this regard, and the coverage of Steve Clarke and Kris Boyd’s comments has only further illustrated the deep seated issue with elements of the Scottish media and particularly BBC Scotland. We will continue to fight the supporters’ corner in these matters but the more individual supporters who assist us, the more successful those efforts will be. Look at the views shown on here from the main stand. Blatant red card, and btw he does not even need to make contact for it to be a red card. -

John Beaton, 36, officiated Rangers' 1-0 win over Celtic on December 29 and was understood to have contacted officers about abusive calls and texts he received afterwards. The men - aged 31, 33 and 41 - have been arrested and charged in connection with communications offences. All three were released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. A report will also be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Media Guidance for Supporters Dear Member, We have now updated our media guidance to include the complaints process for the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO). This can be accessed through the link below. A number of members have been in contact with Club 1872 asking for assistance in challenging the prevailing Scottish media narrative on the club, players and supporters. This has been accentuated recently following skewed and at times blatantly dishonest BBC Scotland coverage of our games on Sportscene and Sportsound. Club 1872 frequently lodges complaints over skewed media reporting and has done so again in relation to recent coverage. However, the more that individual supporters take the time to highlight bias, inconsistency or inaccuracy, the more likely it is that change can be brought about. With that in mind we have written some guidance for supporters who do wish to take practical action over this issue. The guidance linked below details steps that supporters can take to raise issues with both BBC Scotland and commercial media organisations and the commercial press. These approaches differ in process and likely effect but they will all be effective over time if enough supporters are willing to engage in the process and show the patience required. The detail is meant as a reference for supporters, the relevant part of which can be used whenever necessary. It is broken down by organisation, or organisation type where the process is the same. You can access the guidance using this link: http://club1872.co.uk/news/media-guidance-for-supporters/ Club 1872

Fans vote with their feet over ticket prices as Rangers v Kilmarnock replay far from a sell-out Punters are unhappy at being charged £27 for a seat after forking out the same amount for the first tie at Rugby Park By David Fowler 19th February 2019, 1:22 pm RANGERS’ Scottish Cup replay against Kilmarnock is far from a sell-out as fans vote with their feet over steep ticket prices. Thousands of briefs are still available to purchase in all four stands, despite the game not being televised. KEITH CAMPBELL - THE SUN GLASGOW Thousands of Rangers fans will stay away from tomorrow night’s game Rangers’ online ticket service shows the number of seats still available Angry Gers supporters last week blasted the club’s decision to charge £27 for the Ibrox clash after paying the same price for the first tie at Rugby Park. And it seems thousands of home fans are set to stay away from Wednesday night’s game, which kicks off at 7:45pm.
