  1. Having seen a lot of all three of them, Luca and Danny are players for the future and its very important that they have competitive football next season. I'm sure they will feature in the 1st team in spells, but they need competitive games when they are not in the 1st team. I don't think Andy Mitchell is good enough and we should be able to pick out a better out of contract player in the Sumer.
  2. Played as an Under 17 fixture http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/24/17s-hit-double-figures/
  3. Report on tonight's Reserve League Cup tie, which was played as an under 17 fixture. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/24/17s-hit-double-figures/
  4. A round up of this weekend's youth games. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/21/weekend-youth-round-up/
  5. Pretty even in my opinion, as was reflected in the 2-2 draw in the group game. Not sure if either Tom Walsh or Scott Roberts will be fit for this game, it would be a big blow to our midfield if either or both were out. Dylan Dykes was also injured but I believe he played against Hamilton Accies last Friday. Bizarrely that is the only game Rangers and Celtic have met at any level this season, all development games have been cancelled so far and they don't intend to play the remaining group game against them.
  6. Two excellent prospects. There are a few at U18 & U17. Luca Gasporotto is 17 and played most of the reserve games this season and done really well, 1st team call up could have come before now. Confidence possibly took a hit after losing 5-1 to Killie in the youth cup. I'm sure he will feature at some point in the last three games. Its maybe come a wee bit early for Danny Stoney, he is still under 17. Got bags of confidence, best position is probably off the main striker, but he has played wide left a lot this season and on occasions as the main striker. Great ability to create and take chances.
  7. Details of this weeks games against Hamilton Accies http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/14/development-fixtures-against-accies/

  9. 15′s Grab Late Winner Report on todays friendly http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/06/15s-grab-late-winner/ Got details of squads and scorers from Newcastle trip, i'll do a post on the blog when I get more details of todays Liverpool trip. U9's won 5-4 U10's won 10-1 and 5-3 and lost 5-4 and 6-4 U11's won 7-1 and 5-1 drew 3-3 and lost 4-2 From the scores it looks like Liverpool had a strong and weak side, Rangers try to balance both teams.
  10. Personally I think you have to look at it pre-Sinclair and since he came in separately. All players that have progressed to the first team were either there before he came or joined Rangers as full-time professionals (Aird, McKay, Hemmings, Hegarty for example) and therefore were developed elsewhere. His record in buying 13 - 15 year olds that don't then progress to pro-youth contracts is shocking, the latest couple only lasted ONE year at the club. Add to that the dozen or so players he has released that then go on to represent Scotland at youth level in the past year, its not difficult to put a case that questions his competence. He took over what was the best in the country and we have regressed year on year under his stewardship.
  11. A couple of interesting things I took from this. I was surprised how many are still at the same club or have moved on to bigger things. I have mentioned a few times that Falkirk have a good setup, it is interesting they took players released by bigger clubs and turned them into first team players. 12. A few teams took on Newcastle United today at their training ground and the results were as follows:- U9's Newcastle United 1 Rangers 10 U10's Newcastle United 1 Rangers 8 U11's Newcastle United 1 Rangers 4 U15's Newcastle United 1 Rangers 1
  13. Probably more down to both teams making multiple substitutions.
  14. Home Farm Visit Murray Park Report from tonight's U16 game. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/home-farm-visit-murray-park/
  15. Omar Elvir has played over 70 games, 21 games this season.
  16. Don't know what to make of this. Looks like an agent at work, Montagua are 8th in a 10 team league. Two of the players mentioned appear to have broken into their team recently, Omar Elvir seems to have been a regular for a few years, none are internationalists. But I do believe than any player recommended has to be at least looked at. Honduras recently beat the USA in a World Cup Qualifier which would suggest they have a few decent players, with about half the squad still playing in Honduras.
  17. Considering our budget compared to others. A success to me would have been wiining the challenge cup and the divison by a points record.
  18. 16 goals in six years before his season at St.Johnstone, maybe Tommy has done us a favour.
  19. Adam Wilson is really more a central midfielder and moved there when Scott Roberts had to go off, with Ben Reilly playing wide right. Ryan Hardie moved to his preferred striking role when Gloady was substituted.
  20. 17′s Reach Glasgow Cup Final Report on tonight's game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/17s-reach-glasgow-cup-final/
  21. Ryan looks like a natural goalscorer, he has scored regularly through the age groups. He takes a high percentage of chances and hope he can continue that theme as he moves into full time football. Incredibly I have seen him stuck out wide right on occassions, play him in the box and he will score goals. Coming from Stranraer both Ryan and his family have shown great commitent travelling up to Murray Park several times a week. Just heard that commitment has been rewarded and he has just signed a 2 year full -time contact starting after the summer.
  22. All Square In Glasgow Cup Report on tonight's game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/all-square-in-glasgow-cup/
  23. It is a fact that the scouts do not scout pro youth games as there is no budget to buy these players. Given Sinclair's record on "purchases" this may not be a bad thing. Scouts do not sign players they only recommend them. A bigger concern is youth prospects moving out of contract in the summer and others stalling in signing contract extensions.
  24. Report on todays game 17′s See Off Killie http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/03/10/17s-see-off-killie/
