Rangers First vote to offer club £500,000 loan
aweebluesoandso replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
The fans are the mainstay of the club, it's our club but we don't own it, i have been going to Ibrox for over fifty years. Never ever have i been into the directors box, closest was Mainstand rear on the wings. I honestly don't think the ordinary supporter was welcomed anywhere near the Directors box ever. So much for a family club, i mean family as the wider Rangers supporters community. I hope to see that attitude change in my lifetime. -
saw the video on the big screne today, but the sound was poor, so thanks for the video

I don't know the full history of the ownership of the Albion Car Park, but i'm sure some of the more clued up on here will inform us? But did it not pass through various hands over the years,. Firstly owned by the club, then David Murray or one of his many businesses, then his son or one of his businesses, then back to the club. Not forgetting we could have lost it to Ashley if his loan was not paid back. Why shouldn't the supporters own part of our club, least then we could be sure of an proprty staying within the family in perpetuity. -

Yes BH i always give it thought, but my time in Glasgow is generally short, up and down to the North East England in the one day. I take my nephews from Glasgow home after the match and that takes time chatting to my sister etc. But i promise to try, the lads sound a great bunch of Bears. Thanks for the reply. -

Hi BH i have been enjoying the discussion this afternoon, just a couple of things from my perspective on this post. I think you are correct in calling the loan RF would give the club as a donation" Although under financial regulations it must be classed as a loan or investment, i'm sure you'll clarify that. Some of the support would like to call it a gift, whatever we call it there are strings attached, not so much a return of capital on the donation, like interest or shares, , But more of a trade, cash for influence and power. Me i would rather it was a straight purchase of an asset like the Albion car Park for the cash. I know you have said in the past that that would prove difficult with the large Shareholders, although all sorts of shenanigans of loans for the rights to Rangers Intellectual Properties without so much as a whimper went on. The club did needed extra investment or loans to clear the Ashley debt at the new year, The RF had been letting it be known they were in a postilion and wanted to give loans to the club, Why do you think Dave king and the club never approached them for that extra financing, but choose some new lenders instead? -

Rangers First vote to offer club £500,000 loan

The bickering melee between supporters on this, has deflated my high of yesterday. After reading about the proposed loan to the club, I was on a high. Although now i believe the loan was never offered to the club, but was only being voted on to see whether the Rangers First could have the mandate from it's members to proceed with the loan offer. I think the club should have refrained from making their statement until the RF members had voted to decide if they wanted to give the necessary permission. Even after that i think the club could have communicated in private their intention to accept or decline said offer of a loan. It's all so unnecessary, the RF and certain officials within it, look to have been thrown under a bus here by a few. I think the RF has within it's rules, once a certain level of shareholding has been reached. Are allowed to switch between share buying and using their members funds for other uses, as long as a vote by the membership is reached in agreement? The club has said they don't need investment or a loan as this junction, but although they did need a loan shortly before the new year. To pay off the Ashley £5mil and some extra financing till the end of season. Why wasn't the supporters groups canvassed by Dave King or the club, on the prospect of investment from them, before they accepted some new investment from new sources? Bad communications all round imo, I joined the RF and the Trust to help the club, but more i want the supporters to have part ownership of the club. We hear the sound bites from the club that they want closer links with the support, but when the opportunity arises to achieve this goal, they look elsewhere for the investment, that would have facilitated closer links between us. The fans groups and RF just need to continue on the same road, keep knocking at the clubs front door, sooner or later the club, as they have said in their statement, will accept our funding. ensuring our rightful place at the table, -
Audits needed to avoid another Rangers-type “meltdown”

That will never be written, as they are all hoping that Whyte Green and CO are found not guilty. As it reinforces their stance on the collective punishment the club received from the governing bodies. Even when that crowd of crooks are found guilty, they wont change their opinions. -

I can understand that too, but there is probably more reasons for excepting the loan. My worry is the club are pulling back from more fan involvement? -

The club turning down a loan from such a large body of fans, concerns me. Even if it is not immediately needed, why not take it for general financing and bring the support closes to the club. Unless they don't want the support closer to the club? -

I think we have done some fantastical shrewd business so far in the transfer market. Following a pattern set by MW of signing good hungry professional types for little outlay. You just have to read the interview with the follicly challenge rodent at Dundee Hivs to see what buying rubbish can bring. Thompson is throwing McNanara under a bus, for his player buying policy and putting his club in jeopardy. Thompson obviously forgotten the phrase "the buck stops here" -
The Tims have been lying about their season ticket sales and numbers for years now, no one argues with them. Who's to argue if we say we have sold out the Broomloan/Family Stand?

The traditional SNP has been infiltrated and subjugated by a Nationalist Republican agenda. When the realism of this fact sinks in with the non republican element within it's ranks, they'll again be a mass defection, this time back to the arms of the Labour Party imo. -

This is a battle that's winnable, sometimes in any war or battle you need to manoeuvre or even retreat a little for a final victory. Change a few of the words and a few months down the line and we will be wondering why we never done it in the past, it would have saved a lot of anguish imo. They of course will be still nashing their teeth lol
