  1. IMO Bartley seems to be doing more organising and 'captaining' than most. Shouting, organising, encouraging and effectively leading the team. We've been lacking that for a while. We severely lack natural leaders on the park - that's half our problem. Too many quiet guys who prefer to hide rather than stand up and take responsibility.
  2. I hear what you're saying mate. In reality your mate will be in a tiny minority of bears who are genuinely unable to stand for the full game, for whatever reason. But don't get me wrong, I have sympathy with those with a genuine issue. What we can't have tiime for is those bears who go along to games and expect to sit and relax in comfort as if they were lying on their sofa at home. They want a perfect view and to be able to crunch on their crisps in peace and quiet. That's what we've become over the years !! This is an OF cup final FFS - we HAVE to be up for this. There should be no need to have a push to ensure we create an atmos - it's embarassing that we even have to mention it. I think the jist of this particualr push is to ensure that whatever happens, we're not outsung by the taigs again. It's been happening mnore and more over recent years. The team need us more than ever and after 4 horrendous performances against them, it's time for our turn now. IMO there will be thousands standing on Sunday - on both sides. IMO their whole end will be standing - and this plan is to ensure our West stand bears also stand, like the old days. They have their Groin Brigade all allocated together - with the help of their club. Their club are at least trying to help their more active fans. Ours hate us and what we stand for, but we've been far too soft and apathetic over the years, hence they've been able to treat us like shit. Anyway, we have an even split on Sunday and it's a great opportunity to really get stuck right into this mob on and off the pitch. We need to show WE Are The People and there is no better platform for us to show that than on Sunday. Let's have no regrets after the match bears - on or off the pitch.
  3. No worries Frankie. Hopefully I can get a bit more insight. Only bit of info I've had was about 3 weeks ago when Eastmond had some contact with Bartley via text and Bartley said he was "loving it". There are two things that would be good to find out - a) Would the boy want to stay on with us again next season (I'm guessing he would) and b) have there been any discussions on the boys future with Wenger. I think a) should be easy to find out sometime soon, but I suspect b) may be more difficult to answer at the moment, but I'll see what info i can get.
  4. Taken from another Rangers forum. Hope this is ok to put on here. Just spreading the word: Were you at the last final against them? if you were you'll be aware we didn't do ourselves, our club or our players justice, now this isn't about why we didn't it's about how we can make sure it doesn't happen again. The team needs us more than ever this year. I propose a campaign, be it by text, email or word of mouth. The Rangers end at Hampden in full voice AND fully standing, imagine the sight, imagine the fear of the taigs and arguably most importantly imagine the inspiration it will give to our heroes. This thread isn't for people who dont wish to help it's for those of us who do. Lets make the Rangers end like it is at the Piggery and Shittodrie. NO excuses. If we all get behind this we will give our players a huge lift and we will piss all over the top of the girls brigade and their designated section they will have in Hampden. The Bears vs The Girls, no contest. Quote: League cup final, we ALL stand. Pass this onto fellow bears let's take back the terrace. NO SURRENDER. This simple text message COULD make all the difference. EVERYONE get it sent to your mates. Onwards to 54!
  5. I'll try and get some info on this. I work with someone who's nephew is Craig Eastmond - an Arsenal player around the same age as Bartley (think he's 21 actually) who is on loan at Millwall at the moment. I'm not sure Wenger will put him out on loan next season. He'll either want to integrate him into the matchday squad or sell him IMO. But you never know.
  6. It's quite simple IMO. Weir should not be playing unless it's an emergency. For remainder of season we should only be deplying 2 CH's - Bougie and Bartley. Both are strong, mobile and have pace. We would not sit anywhere near as deep as we currently do. I'll be honest, I've never really warmed to Weir like many other bears have done. Nothing personal but I don't think he's a good Rangers captain or natural leader and I think his slow, laid back, casual approach does us no favours. Last season should have been his last with us - but we have Walter to blame for that decsion. Walter - ditch the old pals act FFS - we have a title to win. We cannot afford to be messing around with formations and accomodating players unecessarily !!!
  7. I do think that McGregor will look to move in the summer. His agent indicated last summer that his player was looking for 'new challenges'. I'd be shocked if he's still with us come 1st Sept.
  8. you just wonder what goes on in the minds of the people within our great club. It seems they are completely out of tune with reality on most things - and this is just another example. The whole club needs to be gutted and refreshed to get us back on track where the fans and club are united and we can move on as one. The ambience around the place is dreadful and I don't see it getting any better in the near future.
  9. to be honest, none of them are a stand out - or anywhere near it. Whoever on that list wins it is not going to be a bit embarassed. Papac has been 'consistent', but the others have offered very little in the whole scheme of things. McGregor has done more than the others. Why he's not on it is beyond belief.
  10. The nominees for player of the year are; McCulloch Weir Naismith Whittaker Papac Davis none of them have exactly have filled us with great performances this season - so not much to choose from - but why no McGregor ???
  11. since this was aired, there have been reports of 250 murders, 600 rapes, 899 stabbings and 1,500 kidnappings in the Strathclyde area alone. It is believed these incidents are ALL down to the bigotry displayed by the Rangers fans on tv in Holland. These terrible Rangers bigots causing mayhem again !!
  12. calscot. agree with what you're saying. we have won the league for past two years, whish has been great - but we need to be looking to improve year on year where possible. To be brutally honest, some of the football has been dire at times. For me, far too many of our players are failing to do the basics well enough. So when I see a player like Hutton, for example, and see that he has a great first touch, controls the ball very well and has great composure - something majority of first team lack - then feel very encouraged. Hutton does not seem phased by anything - and I feel has has great awareness on the pitch. his technique is superb and he has many things in his game that several regulars don't have. over the years I've seen countless young players look 'promising' at a young age, but they have never gone on to develop their 'potential'. This is the first time in years that I have seen a crop of players who i genuinely believe can make it - and make it big. By just seeing a player a few times, you can tell alot about their talent. Touch, composure, control, body shaping, awareness - these things all stand out and separate the quailty players from the run of the mill ones. I believe we really have a crop of genuine ones at the moment - and i rarely, if ever, feel like this.
  13. From what we've seen so far, the youngsters who have come into the team have looked very good. IMO what they have in common is that they have good touch, composure, control and can see a pass. They all seem to have good football brains. IMO several of them are better than those currently holding down regular first team places. The quality of football technique they all posess is very encouraging - and has surprised me. For example, I would have absolutely no hesitation in having Ness and Hutton as our CM pairing from next season - and I'd have Wylde on the left.
  14. would be great to have hom on the coaching staff. would install professionalism and would be able to help players with their technique. We're massively lacking in this area. Albertz touch, control, composure and awareness were superb and he would surely be able to pass this on and develop players. A great football brain that we could do with.
  15. great news. IMO he will go on to be a superb player. sticking my neck out a wee bit, but I think he will prove to be the best of our young players. A player who genuinely excites me - and I don't say that very often !!
  16. Jesus wept. He shouldn't even be playing for us this season, never mind next season !!!! Don't even think about it Ally !!
  17. exactly - go with two up top. if we attack me might stand a chance. if we don't we'll just be camped in our own half defending wave after wave of attack. PSV will be decent opposition - but they're no Barcelona FFS. Have some guts Walter - set us up to actually try to score and maybe even win the game !! It's no coincidence that about the only time we got numbers in the Sporting box, we scored. Edu may have got it, but there were other players atacking the ball in their box !
  18. good move. Genuinely looks a good player. God touch, control and composure. Likes to run with the ball and has great pace and has the ability to create chances for others. All in all a very good player and one that should be given more of a run right now. I'd like to see Weiss on the right and Wylde on the left. Genuine wide men who can help push us higher up the park and really go at teams. As we keep men wide, this would also create more space in the middle of ther park for players to make runs and link play. Unleash the pace, power and creativity Walter FFS !!!!
  19. to be honest, this sounds like a very realistic scenario and I'm sure this is what would have happened. We've been guilty of this over the years - seeing a player perform well against us and then making a move for them. Which is all fair and well at times, but proves the point that we don't really 'scout' for players, but simply see them in games against us or we have current players who know players and they probably tell the manager that they'd be a decent signing etc. Lazy 'scouting' IMO.
  20. sadly, I'll be shocked if it's anything other than a PSV win. hope I'm proved wrong though, obviously.
  21. very worried about this match. I think we'll see wave after wave of attack from PSV and they will hit us with pace and precision passing - whereas our touch, control, composure, passing, cohesion and fluency is abysmal.. I fear for Weir - and would not play him in this game....... or any game for that matter !!
  22. seeing what we produce week in week out, it's shocking that these players are not working on improving their game. Christ, Barcelona players are known for continiously working on their touch, control, composure, passing etc. etc. Messi stays behind most days to work on things. In many games we struggle to string three passes together and virtually no-one in our side has genuine composure on the ball. Our touch and balance are shocking. Why are our players not working on this or wanting to stay behind after training to prcatice shooting, free kicks etc. ?? I'm not sure we'll see Beattie back at Ibrox mate. holloway has got Adam and now Beattie, fitter and leaner - that shows us up for what we are like behind the scenes.
  23. what a shambles. the pretend 'government' in Scotland is an absolute joke - and an embarassment. we have thousands of Irish catholics in this country - and Scots who hang on to this fantasy as well - who despise everything British and even back campaigns against our country's soldiers. If they hate it that much why don't they just go 'home'. I'll start a collection for their ferry fares !!! Immigrants who come to our country and do nothing but slag it off and are anti-British can feck off to where the came from. I would never move to another country and start dictating what I should and shouldn't get - and I certainly wouldn't be part of a group that protests against the country I am living in and have anti poppy displays etc. etc. And I wouldn't insist in separate schools for my 'faith'/'culture', thereby creating divisions at a young age.
