  1. Prawn Cocktails organised as starters for STB and FS (who has now confirmed) and Robert McElroy. I will asume everyone else is on the Indian Menu unless they advise otherwise.
  2. I'll consider myslef warned then but I think it's a bit much when you're on the receiving end of thinly disguised abuse. I'm away to do the ironing
  3. You're sounding more like Frankie every day. If we get to the final he should be here for our home game, no question, even if the SFA have ruled he is not fit and proper by that time; the more so perhaps if they have.
  4. My opinions on Dave King are well known anyway, I was just trying to answer the OP as to why there might be a delay in the SFA's decision, I'm not here to defend myself against abuse. I'll leave this thread alone.
  5. I trust that wasn't directed at me Zappa, I was on topic and have been nothing but civil in my responses to Anchorman, despite the rather obvious provocation. I did also try to inject a touch of houmour earlier in the thread but found that rebuffed.
  6. Thanks very much for clarifying and a good afternoon to you too. I try very hard to deal in facts and justify my opinions (which has often been my undoing on here) but when I don't as is sometimes the case, there are plenty who pull me up and no doubt that will continue.
  7. Seriously, who cares what Celtic charge juveniles to watch games against us, what we should be concerned about is what they charge us. My bet is £39/£40 possibly even more.
  8. See what I can do, in my book he who pays the piper gets the starter he wants.
  9. Will arrange that. As far as starters as things stand at the moment of course it's Indian food: Spiced poppadoms will be provided as we gather. They will then offer a Chefs Platter of Starters consisting of: Mixed Pakora; Chicken Chaat, Aloo Tikki, Seekh Kebaba and Chicken Tikka. but I was thinking something like prawn cocktail or maybe melon or something like that, shouldn't be a big problem. If you've a suggestion, let me know.
  10. I respect your right to categorise my posts as "condescending" if that's how you feel but saying you have no respect for my word is just semantics for calling me a liar and I see nothing in your "last post" (#53) to justify that.
  11. Thanks for your kind remarks. Nothing is forcing you to read or comment on anything I post on here. The only way to influence such events is to be part of them; perhaps that's why so many on here rightly yearn for the day when Rangers directors once again take their part on the boards and committees of the football authorities.
  12. Yes it is, please specify, although the speaker is on steak and chips so two might make it easier for the restaurant if that's OK. Starter? 11/05/2015 Counter Credit STB BGC £10.75 Balance £199.53 (£21.50 to be refunded to SteveC) So 15 paid now + speaker = 16 confirmed and 2x2 still to advise later today. Don't miss the Gersnet Play-off , places still available.
  13. I entirely agree with this succinct assessment. On a playing level, we have Murdoch, Walsh, Hardie who should all be regular starters. We need a RB so Sinammon should get a chance to show what he can do in pre-season at least. I wouldn't have any difficulty with McGregor, Zaliukas and Wallace, making up the back four, although here again I would like to see Gasparotto get a chance. Murdoch and Walsh apart, we are desperately short in MF and not sure if Crawford is the answer though he deserves a chance at this level and would hope we can retain Law, who is returning to something like his best form and has been an SPL standout in the past. Again, I hope we can retain Vuckic on loan though I have my doubts, I have no doubt that he would score at least 20 goals as a No. 10 in a full SPL season. Striker is another problem, which Hardie may solve but it's a big task to put on such young shoulders. I see no reason why we should not target a top 3 finish to get back into Europe, although that might be where the real problems begin.
  14. Seems like every time I post something to this thread or just give it a bump, the whole site refreshes and it gets left out the New Posts, beginning to think its a conspiracy or maybe it's just bad timing on my part
  15. Looks like we might make the 20 after all, so I was pretty much resigned to doing it and would be happy to swap if you come along to the dinner, or are you just a very shy person
  16. No reason to be stunned, Bearman, STB has indicated interest in the previous dinners but not been able to attned for one reason or another. People of all opinions are welcome including those who often agree with me Lively debate in a convivial atmosphere is the essence of a good event. Your own kind remarks on the dinner have been most encouraging and hope to see you on another occasion.
  17. Yes absolutely, STB, and good morning to you. I do recall your previous interest. I will PM you the bank details for payment. This means that there is an outside possibility of making the 20 which would be great for the dinner but not so great for me as I promised to write the match preview if we got the numbers!
  18. My doctor has warned me against that and has advised the SFA accordingly.
  19. Possibly, but I think that would be caught under "board of management or committee" as well. Even if not, I am not sure that even someone as brazen as Mr King would want to flaunt a decision in that way IF it were to go against him. I'm hiring a suit of armour from Kelvingrove Museum, just in case.
  20. OK since we're all high on victory in the first leg of the Quarter Final, looking to celebrate getting through to the semis next Sunday; and since we are through the break even to pay for the speaker; I'll make this special offer. 2 for £21.00 So anyone who has already paid £10.75 for their place and wants to bring their spouse, partner, designated driver, friend or whoever; can get the second person for a mere £10.25, a RANGER'S FANtastic 50p discount on the full price. But this offer will only be available until 6.00pm tomorrow night; it will not be extended betyond that time nor will it be repeated. Single places are still available at £10.75 each.
  21. If the SFA Board did not have the power to "think out the box" as you put it, or apply their discretion, then DK may as well have pled no contest. As someone who has spent a life time on boards and committees of course I know that all the REAL decisions are made before the board sits down and of course such discussions are not documented; but that wasn't my point and I think you know that full well.
  22. Would he not have to be a director to Chair the Board? In any event the prohibition (if it is applied) would extend to 2members of the board of management or committee".
  23. Who is giving the orders then?
  24. Why wait, name and shame. One thing you can be sure of is that whatever actions have been taken will be well documented.
