14/05/2015 Counter Credit STEVEC GERSNET D BGC £21.50 Balance £149.53 SteveC has kindly donated his 2 places as has Charltonman who can no longer attend. See new thread Two Free Places (for Deserving Cases) at the Gersnet Dinner on Sunday 17th http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?70619-Two-Free-Places-%28for-Deserving-Cases%29-at-the-Gersnet-Dinner-on-Sunday-17th

Folks, As some of you know SteveC purchased two tickets but had the misfortune to book travel for the 23rd in the hope that we would finish 2nd in the League and that would be the date of our first home game in the play-offs; and Charltonman and his good lady "The Lovely Samanatha" were planning to drive up from London but unfortunately due to a change in personal circumstances can no longer make it. However both parties have very generously offered their places to less fortunate Rangers fans. After discussion what we have decided to do is to offer two places with drink paid in lieu of the the 4 tickets to fans who might enjoy the night but cannot afford to attend. Depending on how much they drink this may cost us all a few quid extra but I am sure that will not be an issue. This would also have the effect of keeping the numbers at 17 (inc the speaker). So I am looking for nominations for these places asap. Please PM me and copy Bluedell who has agreed to help me decide who gets the tickets in the event that there are more than two nominations. I have started a new thread for this to give it some prominence but will understand if admin decide to amalgamate it with the main Dinner thread.

Ashley considering EGM and repayment of loan
BrahimHemdani replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
Obscure but critical point that is news to me and Ashley's lawyers it appears The directors must call a general meeting if so requested by the holders of 10% of the voting shares (or 10% of the voting rights if no shares). If at least 12 months have elapsed since the last general meeting called under this section, the request may be made by 5%., which it hasn't of course. Perhaps he needs to consult you for advice. -
Ashley considering EGM and repayment of loan

I beg to differ, "therefore (because we couldn't get a new NOMAD to replace WH Ireland) the Company requires to terminate its listing on AIM" the cause and effect are pretty clear in the statement; no NOMAD equals no listing on AIM. In any event the real issue here is whether or not the company were economical with the truth when they gave the principal reason for the inability to appoint a new NOMAD as "failings in corporate governance and management of those who previously controlled the Company..... with the resultant "complaints about the Company". Shareholders are entitled to know whether lack of working capital, no CEO, no FD and Mr Kings's difficult position also were factors in the inability to appoint a NOMAD and/or remain listed on AIM, as you will. -

"We were advised that, following this process, the prospective Nomad was unable to take up appointment. We also understand that any alternative Nomad is liable to encounter similar difficulties and therefore the Company requires to terminate its listing on AIM. " Company statement 2 April 2015. -
Craig Whyte defeats Crown bid to change bail terms

The TO will start selling tickets to ST holders immediately after the match on Sunday (if we get through) I believe with a deadline sometime on Monday and those who are registered for non ST home games will have their cards auto activated; followed by general sale. Don't take this as gospel till it's confirmed. I have been told that they hope to be able to provide everyone on the "away games list" with a ticket for Easter Rd but that obviously depends on the allocation and it seems unlikely there will be a public sale.

Ashley considering EGM and repayment of loan

I don't see that King lending Rangers the money to pay off Ashley would prejudice King's position with the SFA; but he did indicate that he wanted to work with him i.e. use his money, for a period. No doubt the actions of the previous Board contributed to the rejection by the prospective new NOMAD but our lack of working capital, no CEO, no FD and King's difficult position may also have been factors. Shareholders are entitled to know the truth of the matter. -
Yes you are quite correct, old age getting to my memory, 2004 was way too late for Bob Valentine, I once ran the line for him at Motherwell, so has to have been way back then He was the referee who adjudged that Derek Johnstone handled the ball on the line in the 1977 Cup Final v Celtic; Andy Lynch scored the only goal of the game from the resultant penalty kick.
-
And Bob Valentine had the misfortune to be the referee if I recall.
-
That's 100% correct. We had to win the game to have any chance of winning the league but when it got to 1-0 if memory serves me that was OK for Hibs to qualify for Europe and at one point Ferguson did indeed stop playing. There is no way that Hibs "allowed" us to score. But we needed Motherwell to get at least a draw or it would have been for nothing, so there is no comparison at all.

I'm pleased to be able to say that I have persuaded the restaurant to give us the place to ourselves up to 9.00pm despite the fact that we have fallen a bit short on the numbers. However an extra few bodies would be very helpful and can still be accommodated. One or other or both the owners Shiva and Sanjay will be in attendance thoughout to make sure everything runs smoothly.

There's still time to book flights and fly over the Gersnet Dinner, which is equally good value at £10.75
