King is a proven liar, so I would take anything he says with a very large pinch of salt.
-
Sebo, Sebo is a legend, you leave him alone. Not too many Rangers players have scored v Brazil, albeit in the World Youth Cup Under-20's.

I don't see why I can't blame you, you're a mod and you posted it after all

Can't agree with you about Doran Goian. He was a little past his best when he joined us and got booked too often as was his want throughout his career but he was a quality International defender (50+ caps for Romania) and formed an excellent partnership with Bocanegra. I well remember his debut in Perth, different class altogether. On the other hand Beattie thoroughly deserves his #1 position (just mention him to Chaltonman). Can't be many so called strikers in senior football who failed to score in 1130-day run in a first team match. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Beattie_%28footballer%29 The aptly named Rothen, did make the pass for Boughera to score in Stuttgart so it can't be said he didn't make a contribution. Jeffers did do a job in Porto, running about like a headless chicken for 76 minutes before replaced by Ross McCormack who promptly scored the equaliser that assured us of at least UEFA Cup football and in the event Champions League last 16 in the spring of 2006. Really odd what happened to him, he was a goalscoring machine at Everton and all-time leading scorer for England Under-21s with 13 goals in 16 games, a record he shares with Alan Shearer but went gradually downhill thereafter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Jeffers

You're pretty good at taking swipes yourself. Look at the questions I and RAB have posed and see if you can answer them instead of just resorting to your own particular brand of sarcasm.
-
They are valid questions, why shouldn't they answer a major shareholder without the need for an EGM?
-
I think you mean disadvantageous, Greg; but can you explain why paying back the loan does not release the securities? The retail deal is another matter, I don't see why he would renegotiate that, even if the loan was repaid, what would be the incentive for him to do that? And as I said I don't understand the need for these resolutions, surely the directors are so empowered by virtue of their office?
-
Perhaps I'm missing something here but I don't understand the need for Resolutions 1 and 2. Do the directors not have the right to repay the loan and thereby release the securities and renogotiate "the contractual arrangements between the Club and various members of the Sports Direct group of companies"? They didn't need shareholder approval to take the loan or enter into the arrangements (albeit it was different directors they were still the board at that time). Or are these just battlefield manoeuvres with the intention of forcing a tactical withdrawal by Ashley? If so it seems an expensive way of achieving that objective.

'Fans are going mad here; the stewards will do well to keep order!'

Did you say she fucked him in the car? -
An unusually inciteful comment if you don't mind me saying. Then both parties can walk away completely satisfied.

Confirmed! Dave King passed as 'fit and proper' by SFA

They were in correspondence with Whyte's lawyers but they started late and didn't finish and no doubt they learned from that experience. -

That's just nonsense, they pursued it as I said elsewhere they just didn't do it aggressively enough. -
When would you get to Ibrox?

The quotations are just that they are not rumours in any way shape or form. If you wish to read the whole case you will find it here http://www.politicsweb.co.za/documents/dave-king-a-mendacious-witness--tax-court And it is summarised here http://www.iol.co.za/business/news/tax-court-labels-king-shameless-glib-liar-1.1027561#.VVySs_lViko from which I quote: -

That's nonsense. There were questions about Whyte being fit and proper which the SFA pursued but allowed themselves to be fobbed off with spurious arguments and delays by his lawyers until it was too late. -

It's simply impossible to take anyone who doesn't regard Vuckic as the most valuable player in our team right now with any degree of seriousness. -

Serious enough to warrant sentences of a "fine of R80 000.00 or 24 months' imprisonment on each of the 41 counts, being the maximum sentence provided for in the Income Tax Act read with the Adjustment of Fines Act 101 of 1991". The effective sentence, as confirmed in the agreement, is a fine of R3 280 000.00 or 984 months (82 years) imprisonment. Seems fairly serious to me but I understand your arguments in mitigation, I don't agree but at least you are not totally blind to the issues as are some on here. -

Just to clarify, that's not what I meant. I meant that PM may be appointed when Llambias is finally dismissed, leaves or whatever. -

So is he coming back then? No doubt the lawyers are earning a crust, batting his dismissal back and forward till there's an out of court settlelement "in the best interests of all concerned". -

So King's convictions were for "aggressive tax planning", that's disingenuous to say the least. Hopefully none of the companies you've assisted in this way have their tax domicile in SA -

This is where I disagree with you and almost everyone else (except JohnMc) it seems. The fact that Mr King invested in the Club previously and may do so again to the tune of £10m, £30m or £50m; does not change the fact that he was convicted of serious offences on his own volition in a criminal court where the judge, cetris paribus, described him as "glib and mendacious liar". I do not think it is good for the standing of our Club and I do not want such a person having anything to do with Rangers FC, I do not care how much money he has or plans to invest. -

What price P Murray as Chief Executive Officer, could that be why none has been appointed hitherto?
