You're OK, sir; I often do that myself, answer something then see a later relevant post. I have done my best to answer anyway. But please be patient for a little while longer.

Thanks, if you think back to certain history not too many years ago, you will know that apart from being extremely pedantic about a lot of things, I am a man of principle (whether you agree with my principles is of course another matter). Your money wouldn't "disappear"; it would have been invested in shares or some other project which would benefit the club in exchange for fan influence and transparency (the point being once you have a certain level of shares you do not necessarily need or want to buy more). So you would have contributed to that. It is just that it is in the nature of the scheme as proposed that if you don't pay the minimum monthly contribution you would lose your right to vote. This is no different from any other membership organisation, dare I say it, including the RST; if you don't pay your annual sub you lose your membership and your right to vote.

Whilst I still have concerns about King's history this statement makes a lot of sense to me. It is also couched in much more temperate language than some of the stuff in the Record. However, he must know that two of his conditions cannot be met: Because in respect of (2) it seems clear that ST money will have to be used to repay Laxey (if they demand repayment in cash) and/or Easdale if his money is drawn down) as well as making the board a hostage to fortune until the ST money starts to come in (so it's a bit chicken and egg) And in respect of (3) the Club just granted security over Ibrox House and the Albion Car Park (he may have meant Ibrox and Auchenhowie but he doesn't so stipulate).

Can I please ask for a short period of patience till the notes of the 2nd and 3rd meetings are online. I do not want to be in a position of giving incorrect or incomplete answers or trying to answer questions on detail that has not yet been discussed or agreed. Thanks.

BD, I understand your point but this is fine detail that has not yet been discussed and I just gave a personal opinion as a possible example. I should have made it clear that, as you mentioned £10,000, I was referring to large lump sums (and please don't ask me to define large). There will have to be a qualifying period, this was mentioned but no firm decision taken.

That's not the suggestion at all, rbr. HNW individuals or others contributing large lump sums will get a return as their investments will be dealt with as loans or debentures. All the money will be invested in shares or otherwise to benefit the club with full transparency and the proper oversight. You don't know me personally but I had a 34 year unblemished record in financial services including 5 years as a regulator and can assure you that I would not be involved in anything remotely dubious.

Precisely. Did you see a wall (Chinese or otherwise) between him and the other directors.- 51 replies

King offered interest free loan but was snubbed
BrahimHemdani replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
All it would do is damage the Club even more; it wouldn't drive the current Board out, in fact it would just give them another excuse to lend the Club more money and then do a further debt for equity swap thus increasing their degree of control.- 51 replies

To all intents and purposes Sandy Easdale IS on the Board. How much of a Chinese Wall do you think there is between him and his brother.- 51 replies

Can we take that as a commitment, BD; would have thought you would be good for £50,000 at least.

My understanding is that lump sums (outside of paying an annual membership) would be dealt with on a different basis and would obviously have to have voting rights. One way (and again it has not been discussed) might be to grant a lifetime membership for a certain figure.

. This was raised again at the 3rd meeting, rbr. As previously mentioned I have been asked not to publish my own draft Minutes/Notes here ahead of publication on the web site but as I understand it the monthly contribution is indeed a donation/membership fee and as with any organisation if you chose not to continue paying you do not get your money back. That said, I think you are making a valid point about hardship and whilst I wouldn't expect a refund I think there is a case to be made for allowing membership to continue for a certain period in circumstances that could be reviewed on a case by case basis. However that is just an opinion, it has not been discussed in that detail as yet. Also if the scheme does attract thousands of members it would be very difficult to look at individual cases. I would also refer you back to rea's post #4.

Sorry, don't know the answer to that, I'm just a pen pusher; but doubtless it's been noted and will be passed on to the IT guys (of which there are a whole squad working, but I don't want to pre-empt the Minutes).

As it's a facility only, I expect the money will rest wherever Easdale has it stashed away naturally earning interest for him until such time as we need to draw it down. What would have been nice would be if the announcement had spelled out, or KJ had asked, which money would be used first; but then the answer to that is probably obvious.

Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
- Wallace. So base + 29.5% APR is an appropriate rate for a secured loan to one of Scotland's oldest institutions, albeit one that has just come out of an insolvency event. We could all club together and get credit card loans at the same or better rate without giving up any security.- 112 replies

The third meeting of the CIC Working Group was held tonight at the Louden Tavern. It was agreed that the suggested contribution would be £18.72 per month but with a minimum of £5.00; and it was confirmed that the cost of collection will not exceed 1% of the contribution. I have been asked to draft Minutes for review rather than publishing a report here first. The Minutes with any post-Meeting notes will then be published asap on http://www.rangersfirst.org.
