  1. I was just about to say that in response to your #4; why didn't the journalist ask that question? There is a possible implication that he is waiting on the inevitable new share issue so that the money goes to the Club but he doesn't actually say that. There would be nothing to stop him building up a small holding at the moment, though; there continue to be plenty of shares on offer (of course me might be doing just that and staying below the 3% notifiable threshold). As is stated in this article, he failed to reach agreement with either side pre-AGM and I thought it was particularly noticeable that he did not throw his weight (and money) behind McCollCo. I thought that Wallace's interview comments were quite dismissive as well. As regular readers will know I think there is a bigger reason why he will not invest, or at least not invest a sigificant amount...............
  2. I don't think that proves anything really. Just because I might have a burglar alarm on my house and I don't get robbed doesn't prove that if I didn't have an alarm I WOULD get robbed. Furthermore, the more players you have back in the box, the more players the opposition will send up. This happens numerous times when you see opponents starting with 4 or 5 outside the box and realising they have no one to mark, then send more players into the box. The box can also get too crowded with "defenders". It is arguable that part of the reason that Simonsen had to pull of that fantastic save was that Mohnsi and Daly went for the same header so the attempted clearance went across the box rather than out. I also think it is arguable that someone with the speed of Aird would be better out the way; he did not react as quickly as Simonsen and "jumped" with one leg on the ground, he was not going to save the ricochet on the line, but he might have been in a position to take a possible clearance and run or hold the ball up long enough for the midfielders to get out of the box.
  3. D'Art, whilst it is entirely possible that the "supply" is something to do with property transactions, it is not clear what is meant by "Activities of sport clubs". The reference is to the "supply of goods and services" so could it also be something like "catering" or "car parking" a la SDM?
  4. I am not sure but I suppose it's a bit like being cup tied; it might be seen to go against sporting integrity dare I use that phrase, if a player was to play for several clubs in one campaign. I very much doubt that it is supposed to catch loan cases but here again it might be argued that if a player gets loaned out to more than one club it goes against the transfer system. Just surmising though.
  5. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/6049-playing-crucial-for-kyle KYLE McAUSLAND doesn’t know where he’ll spend the rest of the season yet but admits he needs to be playing games regularly wherever it is. The 21-year-old had a Rangers shirt back on yesterday as he turned out for Gordon Durie’s under-20 side in its 1-0 league win over Ross County at Dumbarton. It was McAusland’s first game for the club since his loan spell at League One rivals Ayr United came to an end at the weekend. There is a possibility the defender could go back out on loan but if he was to do that he’d have to return to Somerset Park for what would be his third time there. FIFA rules dictate a player isn’t allowed to play competitively for any more than two clubs in the one campaign. And because McAusland has turned out for Gers as well as the Honest Men, his only other option is to remain at Ibrox and fight for a place in Ally McCoist’s squad. With Richard Foster and Sebastien Faure both ahead of him in the pecking order for the right-back slot, he knows his chances there might be limited. McAusland is eager to keep playing though and wants to at least become a regular in Durie’s side if he stays with the Light Blues. He said: “It’s my first week back at Rangers this week so I asked to play in the under-20 game to get myself back into the swing of things. “To be honest, I’ve not spoken to the manager here or the manager at Ayr yet about where things sit. “I’ll just keep training and hopefully I’ll speak to everyone either this week or next and we’ll see what happens from there. “If I do end up going back out on loan, it’ll be good to go back to Ayr because they’re doing well and they’re in a play-off place at the moment. “There’s competition for places at Rangers and you’re going to get that at any club, especially here. “It’s going to be hard for me to push the other boys out of the way because they have done well since they came in. “Whatever happens, it’s about getting more experience for me. I need to play games wherever I am, preferably first-team ones. I’m at that age where that’s really important.” Once again demonstrating the utter folly of sending a player out on a half season loan because when he comes back both he and the Club are snookered; as with Gallagher and Mitchell.
  6. For those of us dynosaurs that don't tweet; can you post some examples, thanks.
  7. ....................... and we all know what two yellows make
  8. Absent agreemnent on an a across the board pay cut there will be redundancies voluntary or otherwise. JMHO no evidence.
  9. Excellent critical analysis as usual D'Art; is easy to make scapegoats of some people, without reference to the facts which can sometimes get in the way. That said I find it hard to believe that would not have had some input at least to the salaries and contract terms of the players brought in last summer in particular. As far as Stockbridge is concerned, whilst the apparent mismanagement occured on his watch, he was not the CEO with ultimate responsibility. So I think we or rather Wallace would need to examine the paper trail starting with BS' job description to be sure of his remit, see if he simply recorded what went on, whether he was complicit in any bad/short term decisions of the like referred to in the TE interview or if not did he use his position to warn the board of the potential outcomes. As I said elsewhere, Wallace will have to build a very strong case if he is to dismiss him for cause without a massive pay off; especially as BS has just won shareholder support at the AGM and the Chairman has publicly supported him.
  10. There will be if the 2nd in the Championship wins through to the Final :D
  11. JMHO. The difference is that Rangers situation forced or at least was the catalyst for a financial restructure and the introduction of play-offs last season; Hearts being relegated doesn't have the same force.
  12. TG is correct about that. Gribz, you've been away too long. In SPL Chamipnship it's - 3rd v 4th, then winners play 2nd, then winners of that play 2nd last in the SPL; which is why St Mirren and Ross County are shitting themselves right now. Of course it is skewed in favour of the SPL team (as their opponents will have played 4 games to get to that stage) unlike the other divisions where the team from the higher league is in the mix from the start. http://spfl.co.uk/play-offs/
  13. If there is a further restructure, it will not be implemted immediately.
  14. Agree that Bell is a better overall keeper and just coming into his prime; but think Simonsen deserves another game or two for his time on the bench and fantastic save. I think he was bound to be a bit nervous and unsure as it was his first game with this defence/team.
  15. It's easy to see as an inferior version of WS. This thing about everyone back at corners drives many in the stand around me to near apoplexy. I well remember the sight of Jean-Claude Darcheville trying to get away with hiding on the centre spot as we defended a corner on one occasion only to be frantically waived back by Smith. You could almost hear him say, look boss I'm 32, playing on one leg and haven't lasted 90 mins in any game, please can I just stay up here to gather the kick out and hold up play. I also remember the consternation in our defence faced with Barcelona leaving Messi, Henry, Gudjohnsen and Ronaldinho up front as they defended a corner and we had to keep 5 or 6 back. Yes , I know that we are not playing Barcleona these days but the same principle applies
  16. Your summary is indeed hard to argue with but aside from some landslide wins at Ibrox it's been very hard to watch most of the time and extremely cold, (though can't be blamed for the weather I guess) ; the immensely boring game against East Fife just about summing it up for me. I don't agree that Foster was signed as back up. If he was signed as back up who was or is the first choice? You can't say Faure because he is not a RB. Foster is the only natural RB at the Club and has performed pretty well most of the time and your stats back up his value to the team. He is +12 in ice hockey terms, though that stat is diminished by the fact that we should win every game anyway. Both Daly and Law have dropped a gear or two (some would say gone down to the level of the opposition) since the Autumn and perhaps the cold and boredom of disposing of these teams four times a season has got to them to.
  17. Faure has done a good job for us wherever he's been asked to play and not thrown the toys out when he's been relegated (unfairly in my view) to the bench. He played really well at CB at the start of the season and I like the way he always tries to play the ball out of defence; but if he is to have any future with us at a higher level it can only be at CB. He is a decent stand in RB at this level and can get by in centre mid but I don't see him doing enough there to hold down a place in SPL1 never mind the SPL or anything else.
  18. Going back to the OP, there is no chance of Black being left out and although Daly has indeed been well below par for months (as has Daly) we do score a lot of goals from his knockdowns and it's hard to se his level of wages sitting on the bench. I would play Law further up. That said the call for McCulloch (who would surely score more goals) upfront and Faure at CB is so obvious that there seems little chance of taking it up. One other thought, that I credit to the guy behind me in the stand; isn't Little really a right back? Ally's best team: :sf::jig: :ib::lm: :jd: My line up based on current form: Simonsen (no picture, come on Zappa get up to date!) :rf::sf: :ib::lm: :jig: Daly and Jig to spell each other up front also sounds like a great idea. Subs: :ec::ap::al:and any 2 from the Youths, anything except Stephen Smith in other words.
  19. The schedule doesn't say anything about the afternoon, so I think it's fair to assume that the players are free to go after lunch. However, I agree that we need a lot more information about what actually goes on in the 1.75 -2.00 hours they are "training" (which suggests physical activity to me, rather than watching videos of past games and future opponents, for example) in comparison with other clubs in Scotland, England and throughout Europe.
  20. That was really my question; perhaps he was doing some consultancy work, perhaps living off a big pay off? I just think it's a question worth asking, don't you? As has been pointed out elsewhere; his main job at Man City seems to have been spending money; his main job here is saving money, at least in the short term; but we will soon see if he is up to it.
  21. Both good suggestions in my book. I have been surprised at the lack of friendlies against "name" opposition.
  22. He does have a good CV, but taking all you say on board, would it be fair to say that he was unemployed for almost a year before he got offered our job, not implying anything either way, it's just a question. Regardless, the circumstances of his leaving Man City are not clear.
  23. Shocking, absolutely shocking.
  24. Regardless of the source or the motivation, if it is genuine then the thought also occured to me that if lunch is at 12.30pm then the actual training session can't be much more than 1.75-2.00 hours max. Also IF there is a separate afternoon tactics session, even if it is only once a week, why wouldn't it be on the schedule?
  25. Do they work on tactics, review video of past games and future opponents within that 2.25 hours?
