  1. In normal circumstances I don't think you'd be far wrong; but these are not normal circumstances; well, not just yet.
  2. I haven't been following the total numbers sold until the end of last week but that's 200,000 or so sold in the last two trading days and the momentum seems to be gathering; a couple of weeks of that and it will become millions. I know the trades and volumes are very small but 8 times as many shares were sold as were bought today which is why the price keeps going down. So long as there are more sellers than buyers the price will keep going down; simple economics.
  3. Continuing small sales this afternoon saw the price down to 26p, no one who sold a 1,000 or more (largest 15,000) got more than 26p ; some buyers got in at 27p; only one deal for more than £1,000. Not greatly significant but trend continues to be worrying. Theoretically that's wiped15% off the value of the club since Thursday.
  4. I would not have Bougherra back at any price because talented though he was, he cost us the chance of CL football in Malmo in 2011. I was there and even with 10 men after Whittaker's sending off we controlled the game and were leading 1-0 on the night (1-1 on agg) and had every chance of at least taking the match to extra time/penalties, if not scoring the second goal necessary to qualify for the play-offs; until Bougherra elbowed a Malmo player with 25 minutes left and shortly afterwards they scored against our 9-men. I prefer to remember him for some great performances especially his goal in Stuttgart in 2009.
  5. When you see him close up like that it's quite terrible, hopefully he can have the best quality of life possible in his remaining time.
  6. And this man seemed to do better as an assitant than as a manager http://asia.eurosport.com/football/factbox-sacked-tottenham-manager-andre-villas-boas_sto4050783/story.shtml
  7. Maybe we could get one here http://www.mfa.gov.pl/en/news/real_madrid_trains_polish_unemployed_teachers_to_become_football_coaches. As part of a Polish-Spanish initiative, Real Madrid specialists are training a group of unemployed people from the Lodz Voivodeship to become football and basketball coaches.
  8. Yes indeed and that itself might well be a problem. Let's say that Rangers won the Scottish Cup in May 2015. The Application would have to be submitted, processed and a decision made before the Europa Cup draw is made at the end of June. This year the cup final is on 17 May and last year the draw was made on 24 June. What chance do you think there would be of all the steps being completed in 5 weeks? And that presupposes we win the cup. Which is why I say we really need to look qualifying through the SPL in 2015/16 and having the licence in place to play in Europe in 2016/17.
  9. You might want to ask Mr Lawwell that one but here's the rule just in case: UEFA Article 15 – Special permission 1 If a club qualifies for a UEFA club competition on sporting merit but has not undergone any licensing process at all or has undergone a licensing process which is lesser/not equivalent to the one applicable for top division clubs, because it belongs to a division other than the top division, the UEFA member association of the club concerned may – on behalf of such a club – request an extraordinary application of the club licensing system in accordance with Annex IV. 2 Based on such an extraordinary application, UEFA may grant special permission to the club to enter the corresponding UEFA club competition. Such an extraordinary application applies only to the specific club and for the season in question.
  10. There will be a limit no doubt and I would expect crowds to fall once the league is tied up and we're playing the same teams for the fourth time; but equally the prospects for a good, exciting league next season are high and I would expect record season ticket sales (so long as they are sensible about any price increase) as it will be the last step in our climb back to the top.
  11. Wasn't clear if the thin line was a taxi-way or a runway but I'll bow to your inside knowledge and at the same time suggest you stay away from any kind of bullets or you might get a knock on your door.................. Presumably that will not be an extension to the clockwork orange
  12. That's another agreement then (up to 2.5); they have halved his wages and so long as he wins this division and the next then he is safe for a while yet.
  13. One and a half agreements then: I'll settle for that
  14. He played his heart out for us but he's a merecenary like most footballers, good luck to him.
  15. Aha a disagreement! The Board will do what the Board are going to do to get the expenditure down, because that is the only way to get new investment from the institutions; otherwise they may have to go back to the moneylenders etc. They will tell the fans that this is what has to be done, weak posititon or not.
  16. Did you and I just AGREE; there is hope for us all yet
  17. They certainly COULD; but how symapthtic do you think the SFA will be?
  18. No need; just read the important bits on Gersnet.
  19. We could run a competition to name it and another competition to suggest a prize. I'll go for Jock Stein International and the first prize will obviously be a season ticket, second prize of course, two season tickets.
  20. Your first statement is of course correct; which makes it all the more necessary now. We don't have the money to pay the squad we have now and if we can't get rid of about 10 at least on loan we are going to have to try to do deals to pay them off for less than the value of their contracts, which will take more than financial gurus. There is no chance whatsover of us signing anyone unless on something like a 2 out - 1 in basis, on less wages, what chance of that improving the team?
  21. No we can't because we won't have 3 year's accounts in time unless the SFA make special application to UEFA which seems highly unlikely. Season 2016/17 is our earliest likely re-entry based on performance on 2015/16 and accounts for 2014/15 published in late 2015.
  22. Looks viable to me but surprised there is only one runway, no car park and no mention of the direct rail link to Edinburgh Waverley for Easter Road and the new Tannadice St Station in Dundee. Of course one drawback is that there will be no evening kick offs in the winter in case planes land on the pitch. Reminds me of the night I was locked in Firhill and accidentally switched the floodlights on; but that, as they say in another story..........
  23. Hearts have to abide by the rules and get on with it; just like we had to do. But all our employees need to stop whinging and let the team do its talking on the park. In the first quarter we were steam-rollering all the opposition; but have gone of the boil of late (Dunfermilne away excepted); perhaps because of the growing realisation that we are going to win this league in a canter. Time the management and players realised we pay our money for the whole season and they don't get to switch off when it suits them.
