Thanks for directions and putting up with my chat at the match. Just made it in time for a surprisingly early 10.00pm close and got the last one on the shelf, so probably not their best fish but the chips were fresh made, on the whole a very acceptable fish supper from the Best Fish & Chip Shop in the UK (2009-10)! Gives me an idea though. I did ask what had happened since then but they said they hadn't entered because "they" would be unilkely to award it to the same shop twice which makes sense. And the lady in my phone was able to direct me back to civilisation thankfully.

Sorry to disappoint you; both happily (heterosexually) married already. Let's get back to the football.

Pleased to advise that we got on very well, IMHO. Despite the fairly large difference in ages, we have surprisingly similar views on things on and off the park.

I think I am correct in saying that the case will be heard by an "Independent" Panel or Tribunal or at least there is an appeal to an independent tribunal. If you were a member of the panel and found him guilty of betting against his own team, what would you do? How much would the amount of the bet weigh in your decision?

Arrangements made, thanks also to the mediators for allowing this. Maybe it would be worth considering a dedicated part of the forum for matching ticket buyers and sellers as was mentioned is available on another site?

It's just an article chronicling events from an investors point of view for the business pages; I would read anything more into it. I suppose he could have said "oldco" rather than "Rangers, in its past life" but I don't think that betrays anything at all really.

As I have said several times in this thread there is a fine line between betting against your own team and match fixing; and UEFA are hot on the tails of the latter. I am sure there are those at the SFA who would love to be able to say to UEFA "we got one" (and banned him for life?).

Ian McMillan was a very talented footballer who played in an outstanding Rangers team that won the Scottish Cup three years in a row 1962 - 64 and both legs of the 1961 Cup winners Cup Final (the only time it was played over two legs) as part of the legendary forward line: Scott, McMillan, Millar, Brand and Wilson. Subsequently Willie Henderson took over from Alex Scott on the RW. He also scored the 5,000th goal at Ibrox v Raith Rovers; I was there

MCollCo should have one spokesperson, McColl. If Murray had any dignity he would keep his trap shut, people in glass houses...........

Where the Board have been quite clever is playing the cost of the EGM card and although the figures may well be exaggerated (and don't forget the printing and postage as well as a suitable venue, if the main stand isn't big enough, which I doubt); it would indeed have been a PR disaster for McCollCo to refuse. I think the Board will use the time to try to find other suitable candidates, especially a new Chair (they may be happy [compelled] to accept Blin as a director but not walking straight in as Chair) and then they will go to the EGM/AGM and say, we HAVE a balanced Board now so why all these other changes.

It is a totally unprofessional and quite appalling statement, unbefitting a Club of Rangers stature. If it was written by Mather about himslef/the Board, then it demonstrates as clearly as anything else the need for a new CEO. As an exercise in self agrandisement it is hard to imagine anything worse. But slagging off the Requisitioners by implication (when they are obviously in a strong position) is hardly the stuff of compromise; or perhaps it's just a battle to the finish now. I suspect that Mather wrote it and then Traynor added his magic touch to make it worse, or perhaps vice versa.

This is going to be a close run thing: McCollCo - 24.6% Others claimed - 4.3% Fans (if United) -12% Laxey (voting with Fans) approx 6-9% (depending on how many Imran sold to them) Total approx - 47-50%!

Signed, sealed but not yet delivered, thanks Stewarty.

Yes, looks like they're playing hardball.

I understand that point of view; but I don't think there can be degrees of guilt here, since the rule is absolute. If he did it, he's guilty, the only issue will be the punishment: £500 fine to banned sine die; that's where the amount involved may come into play. JMHO.

Perhaps so in the case of the "ordinary" bets; but not I suspect betting against your own team, which comes extremely close to match fixing.

It's easy to see what he was trying to do; but he would have been much better to say NO COMMENT. If Black is going to defend the charge then his lawyer should have put out a statement by now. If Rangers are going to defend him then Rangers' lawyers should have put out a statement by now. Some might argue with your description of McCoist as a football manager but all would surely agree that he is no lawyer.

He could have a list of a thousand such players (not sure about calling them Blackie's ) and it wouldn't matter a jot. Just because other people go through red lights isn't a defence when you get caught. Some really silly comments from McCoist IMHO, "What I am asking for is everyone to get around the table, whether it is the Scottish FA, the players' union, Ladbrokes or William Hill, who of sponsor the Scottish Cup, to sit down and find out what is allowed and what is not allowed, and then let's start again." The rules are clear and ignorance is no defence.

As I said earlier McColl's statement was VERY carefully worded; using "pursuing" rather than "convening". I have also been advised that Blin is not prepared to meet anyone "at the moment"; this is directly from him on an email to a mutual acquaintance. For the avoidance of doubt, I have not seen Blin's email. Note also which does not preclude a change in the motions to be discussed i.e. there could still be changes to who they want removed and who they want in. I would suggest that there is some fairly heated horse trading going on behind the scenes as Mather and Stockbridge struggle to keep their places on the Board/jobs and McCollCo continue to push P Murray and/or AN Other. Blin is a shoe in.

Many thanks, I don't tweet or FB.
