I am struggling to understand why the "company directors of Sevco Scotland Ltd” would accept this condition for two reasons: Lord Glennie said that no such sanction was available to the SFA and instructed the SFA to refer the matter back to the Appellate Tribunal. So if the matter went to the Tribunal now for a decision they could not legally impose such a sanction, unless they chose to ignore His Lordship and risk a further (almost certain losing) reference to the Court of Appeal. If on the other hand the matter is now referred to the Tribunal to endorse a decision that has already been accepted by all parties, I still don't see how the Tribunal can endorse it given that it has already been ruled that no such sanction exists. I suppose the threat that will have been made is that the Tribunal could impose a ban on Rangers altogether in the form of suspension or termination of membership but here again I'm not so sure that such a ban would be effective against newco. It's one thing saying that legitimate sanctions monetary sanctions against oldco have to be accepted by newco but it's quite another saying that a suspension or expulsion of a company that no longer exists or shortly won't exist is enforceable against newco. I'm assuming that Green has taken legal advice on all this and perhaps been told it's not worth the risk but I think I might have been tempted to take the chance.

Yes there is. I saw Berwick v Stranraer last season, they do try to play football but they only had one decent player between the two teams and he ran out of steam long before the end. It did get a bit agricultural in the last 20 mins when lack of fitness led to some hefty challenges and that is where, as a full time team, we should prove far too good.

£14,600 for badges????

No we certainly do not condone any such action. FFS (thank you for the comment about the intitials, the name came first but we did think that the initials were apt - For Football's Sake) is about encouraging supporters to work and talk together for the greater good of the game. I encourage you to go to the website and contribute your comments on Twitter and FB.

I would appreciate if anyone can spread this around the other forums.

A new fans organisation was launched over the weekend. http://fansfirstscotland.com/ For those of you who tweet and are on FB here are the addresses: (https://twitter.com/FansFirstScot) (http://www.facebook.com/FansFirstScotland). The main blog is here: http://scotsfitbafirst.wordpress.com/

:lm: will stand on the centre spot and absolutely dominate every game and woe betide any third division midfielder that goes anywhere near him.
-
Healy is gone, thank goodness and can't see Edu playing in Div 3 can you? But so long as :sk: is here we've a chance

Any agreement he made, tacit or otherwise will have been contingent on SFL1 and will be off the table now.
-
You are welcome.
-
Or two or three years from now when their attendances are down to 25 -30,000.
-
wanna bet he is isn't here this time next year?
-
Regan doesn't work for the SPL, he is the CEO of the SFA.
-
FIFA will grant the clearance, FIFPRO is a very powerful advocate for the players.
-
Sorry mate don't understand what you mean. My point is that if they get 10,000 for a friendly how many will they get for a league game, no matter how fiercely it is contested.
-
51 pages on the last thread and another 17 here; and about what, absolutely nothing as far as I can read.

Doncaster is made of much sterner stuff than Regan.

Obviously there are two different things here. The TV deal is the TV deal and it was £13/14M per season and was to be £16M/season and this goes into a pot with the sponsorship money and any other SPL commecrial deals and is doled out at the end of the season: 17% to the winners and 15% to the runners up. If the TV deal is cut in half (by no means certain and certainly not next year) then it will cost Celtic about £1M+/season. Visiting old firms is quite another thing and obviously the loss of Rangers fans will be a blow and the smaller you are the bigger the blow; but Aberdeen estimated that they would need to get 1,000 more fans on average to compensate and if Dundee are in the League then that would help them a lot. Dundee Utd might get more for a visit by Dundee than Rangers e.g. 10,000 at the weekend friendly.

Unless you are referring to cup ties.
-
No, it all goes into one pot. There may be deductions, if certain games are not played on the original dates that they were due to be televised but that won't affect the clubs concerned in that match.
-
Doncaster is highly regarded in English circles from his time at Norwich and will easily get another job when a suitable vacancy arises in the EPL or Championship; Regan, not even Yorkshire cricket would have him back.

GS, please do me the courtesy of re-reading the OP and my comments which relate solely to the TV money. Celtic have lost more fans in real numbers and percentage terms that any other club in the SPL in recent seasons from the peak average of 57671 in 2008/09 to 45582 the following season (although they rose again modestly the last two years to 48968 & 50904). [Rangers BTW have been remarkably consistent 45305 - 48091]. I agree with you that their numbers will fall sharply after the novelty of winning a one horse race wears off and they tumble out of the CL again. AND I think this effect will multiply in Y2 and Y3; when I can't see them getting much more than 30,000. BUT I can't see where you get that. Let's say they lose 10,000 per game (which won't happen initially) x 19 games x say £25 a pop; that's less than £5M and includes VAT. So my best guess would be about £2M - £3M in the first season and rising. Again a not inconsiderable sum and taken with the loss of SPL money (inc spnsorship and TV) might come up to about £5M next season and rising. So YES, they will have to do some pruning but they have more than ample scope for that, don't they?
