  1. They don't have to qualify, they just have to apply if there is a vacancy. It appears that the SFL are admitting Rangers, so there will be no vacancy the only debate is which division Rangers go in to. However, one or two SFL clubs are saying Rangers should have to apply with all comers. That said, I have it on good authority that if that were the case Spartans would not be applying. BTW dB, excellent piece yesterday and great point about the Bundesliga having rules and not having fans or other clubs vote on the future of one of their own.
  2. See other post; I think he'll be gone sooner rather than later.
  3. Regan will go sooner rather than later, he knows he has made a sows ear of it. Doncaster is another matter. He is strong, forceful, confident and a master of the facts. Furthermore he is doing the SPL clubs bidding and doing it well, the fact that he has stretched the truth a few times along the way will not be regarded by them as an issue. If he "wins" the day i.e. Rangers in SFL1 (unlikely at the moment) or he can force through an SPL2 for next season or even find a way to jump Rangers from SFL3 to the SPL in one step (not impossible) then he will be the great hero of the SPL and will preside over the combined league like a Colossus. Ironically, he has always stated in private meetings that he is PERSONALLY in favour of a 16 team league but that no SPL club would support it. Now the SFL clubs have enough clout to drive it through he may be the beneficiary at the expense of Longmuir who is a very nice, honest, person but no match for Doncaster when the going gets rough and tough.
  4. Apologies if this has been posted on here already but I don't have time to read back through 47 pages! I have it on good authority that Brown phoned the Football League to enquire if Rangers could be admitted to the Championship but they couldn't understand a word he was saying.
  5. Apparently the legal contract is that the SPL HAS to pay the £1.8M next season regardless but can get out of it thereafter. This info came from a director of an SFL1 club.
  6. Regan is out of his depth in Scottish Football and I believe he knows it. Essentially he is an administrator and he did an excellent job re-shaping the SFA along the lines of the McLeish Report, which was no mean feat given all the "blazers" who lost committee positions as a result. He is also a champion of one league and a pyramid system both of which are badly needed. However, he is no match whatsover for Doncaster who is a political animal who fights dirty from the trenches. Regan has no power himself he only has the power that the clubs and the rules give him and he has misused both. I am sure he wishes he had never left Yorkshire and I am equally sure he won't be here this time next season.
  7. I think that "sporting integrity" or other clubs' fans perception of what that means have put us out of the SPL but business reasons are what are driving the SFS/SPL to promote their solution.
  8. I believe Andy Smillie and at least one other have resigned have they not? Perhaps I misunderstood but I thought from TB's posts that a group of their committee had been appointed to review the documents and I was simply asking about their qualifications to review legal papers.
  9. Sorry on second reading I see the sarcasm, too late at night mate.
  10. My point was more along the lines of what Association was he representing since I thought this meeting was for Supporters Association reps? If he wasn't representing an Association why was he allowed into the meeting?
  11. I don't think I would. All (except Brown , though I'll stand to be corrected!) have been asked to put real money into Rangers in the past and all have failed; isn't that why Green/Sevco are now the owners?
  12. Quite so, but I would still be interested to know three things: On what basis has the RFFF, which was formed to look after donations if I undertsand it correctly, and includes at least three peole who have conflicts of interest, suddenly become the voice of the Rangers fans? What are the qualifications of the "appointed the guys" to review legal paperwork? And for the avoidance of doubt, whoever they are, I am not doubting that they are "are real good and proper bears". Who are they?
  13. I agree with most of that but as things stand with the two leagues the SPL did not have the ability to demote us.
  14. On what basis does Mr Dingwall assert that "this decision which has been taken out of malice rather than for the greater good of the Scottish game." and why would the SPL Chairmen take account of "likely result in job cuts at the club as well as damage the local Glasgow economy" in their decision making process"? He says that â??The decision has absolutely nothing to do with sporting integrity " because the "SPL chairman who voted to refuse Rangers entry into the SPL (are not insisting) on the club starting again from the bottom of the football league". This ignores the fact that it is the SFL Clubs who will decide if and in what division Rangers are admitted to that League. It must be clear to all concerned now that the SFA/SPL preferred option of SFL1 is highly unlikely and will not be forced on the SFL Clubs.
  15. I would suggest that a practising solicitor who is an expert in conveyancing law would be best placed to review the securities and the deeds and I could suggest one or two; that is if there is really any lingering doubt.
  16. Who was he representing at the meeting, himself?
  17. I am completely at a loss to understand why Green/Murray are even giving him the time of day; an adequate (as Craig said) albeit inspirational player but a businessman, Lord help me.
  18. In what way is Mr Montgomery qualified to give an opinion on the title deeds? Does he hold a professional qualification and if so what is it? In what way does Mr McCormack's qualification as an accountant make him an expert on title deeds?
  19. As has been pointed out already, Donald Findlay is an advocate not a practising solicitor.
  20. Yes, we do. We need to be in membership of the SFA to play in any senior football league and that includes the SPL, the SFL, the Highland League, the East of Scotland League etc.
  21. According to the Motherwell web site, 247 votes were not returned, which means there was a very high 73% turnout of the Trust Members, which I would say is democracy in action. 82% of those who voted, voted NO; which means that it was 60% of all members. There is a very high degree of correlation between the Supporters Direct Survey results, the Fans' Plan put forward in March/April and the SFA's own reconstruction plans; particularly from the point of view of play-offs, redistribution of monies, pyramid system etc. The only real area where there is disagreement is league size but that will happen eventually, possibly sooner than you might think.
  22. Is Donald Findlay the CID now as well?
  23. That is about the biggest load of tosh I have read in this whole sorry saga. Why should Green prove anything to Donald Findlay or John Brown? "if he cant prove he owns the club we dont need to raise much money to get our club back as then the fans will know what he is up to " who is writing this nonsense; what is he up to, please enlighten us? "white is still involved thats my opinion " where is the evidence for that?
  24. No need to worry, absolutely no chance of that happening.
