  1. In essence, unless you won the Cup, by my reckoning you would be out of Europe for 5 years not 3. If you started in SFL 3, you need to win promotion 3 times then qualify put of the SPL, which makes 4 years; then it would be the next season, so 5 in total. In Fiorentina's case it was 6 seasons 2001/02 to 2007/08 Of course, it is that against playing in the SPL with a possible 20 point penalty for say 3 seasons. Fiorentina were liquidated in 2002 and 6 years later (in their first season back in Europe) played against us in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup. They still play in the same stadium (OK it's municipally owned) they play in the same colours and UEFA regard them as the same club who have played in Europe since 1956 http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=1989/clubs/club=52817/history/index.html. Wikipedia refer to them being "refounded" or "re-established" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACF_Fiorentina#cite_note-4 So you don't lose the history. Does anyone think that the good citizens of Florence regard the team as anything less than the viola of old? With that background, personally I would rather start afresh in SFL3 and work back up with no point deductions and some new places to visit such as Peterhead, the Podgorica of the north, Elgin and Annan! Oh and not to mention Berwick and Hampden Park!!
  2. The only thing I would question about your analysis is the Ticketus situation. If they are only "ordinary creditors" why does it matter that Miller and Ng have "No initial Ticketus agreement". Ng has said he will put up £12M to pay creditors so that could be anything from say 9p-20p in the pound. On that basis Ticketus would get say £2.5M - £5.0M. I would rather that than £10M over however many years to be funded out of a share issue. Also if you take £20M+ to Ticketus out of the total creditors it doesn't make all that much difference to what each would get, unless you believe that an extra 1.5p in the pound would make that much difference to a vote on a CVA.
  3. Seems you are doing an awful lot of work when 80% of an admittedly small poll don't think it's worthwhile. BTW as you know the poll was Ergatrude's idea and he said to make it YES or NO. Don't realy see the point of "don't care" in this context.
  4. Trust you to be awkward! It's fair point but as I said I wanted to include all the current first team and like it or not Whittaker is the manager's first choice at RB. I exclued Jelavic becuase he isn't here any more though I agree that 17 goals in 28 starts might well qualify him in some people's eyes. I excluded Naismith sadly due to injury that has restricted him to 9 goals in 15 appearances. I also left out Lafferty, TBH I forgot all about him!
  5. How much are you putting into the bid?
  6. Is that the shortest employment in the history of RFC? Have we been left with a lease committment on the offices?
  7. What happened to the London office Whyte opened, did the Administrators shut it down?
  8. Aluko has the talent without doubt but has he been as consistent or influential as Boca? Captain America showed his true qualities yeserday taking over form Davis and changing the formation to 4-4-2.
  9. Catch them young, will pink be our new colours or is that just the girls team?
  10. Only the wooden spoon; but then neither have a host of others such as Davis; but wanted to include most if not all of the regular first teamers. Is there anyone else who you think would have had a chance that I missed out?
  11. Early leader Bocanegra now being challenged by Aluko, with McGregor and McCulloch the only others in the running. Thought Edu and Goian might have picked up a vote or two although the latters' indiscipline is costing him (and us) dear.
  12. How did you guess
  13. Agree, I don't see the point of it any more than any other newsfeed.
  14. Done and will clear my Inbox thanks.
  15. At the request of Ergatrude!
  16. I am enjoying these polls so much that I thought I'd start another. As there are only 10 options I considered making the last one "others" but didn't really think any of the others would win so opted to give 10 choices. Left out Jelavic and Naismith for obvious reasons though some may disagree particularly in the case of Jelavic. Second attempt, first time the poll didn't come up so deleted the thread. Better luck this time hopefully. Hopefully one of the admins can fix the error in the poll title for me!
  17. Now I've go the hang of this poll thing thought I'd post what I was going to describe as the £34 million or is it £134 million question? Given what you know or don't know as of now which bid do you prefer?
  18. Poll now up, took me a minute to realise it went up outside the first post!
  19. The site has been having connectivity issues for some time and they have been exacerbated recently due to the volume of hits. At the moment, the "New Post" feature does not work. The site relies on input from the admins who are all volunteers and some have more time than others to give to this task. In these circumstances, would you be prepared to accept advertising on the site to bring in income so that the admins could employ professional help to resolve the issues?
  20. I find the "New Post" feature very helpful as a quick way of finding exactly that i.e. what's new either in terms of threads or posts on threads that are ongoing; right now it doesn't work. This is an new issue but there have been connectivity problems for some time, resulting in loss of new posts especially if it is a long one; and I now heed the warning to create new docs in WORD but sometimes you don't start out meaning to write a lot! I appreciate, as I am sure we all do, the amount of time the admins put into the site but I wonder if we had some money from advertising to pay for professional assistance, if that would help. I am going to post a poll to that effect.
  21. It cost Whyte £1 - £100M, which I make a saving of £99,999,999.
  22. Yes that is the main issue right now, whenever you try to go to NEW POSTS, you get the same error message.
  23. I find using the site very frustrating at the moment. Very often when you try to post it drops to the "Unable to display website" message but tonight I keep getting: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@gersnetonline.co.uk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/2.2.22 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.22 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips DAV/2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk Port 80
  24. It's cost him £100M
