Rangers First vote to offer club £500,000 loan
BrahimHemdani replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Interesting, so lets say 75% of a 75% turnout, which would then mean 56.25% overall, on the face of it that's fair; but shouldn't the question be put again with the inclusion of a statement that Rangers did not request the loan and there is no way of knowing if it will be accepted? -

No, YOU, wish -
Would that not apply if it finished 1-0? Who cares about the little sh*t anyway, he's toast.

I can see where you're coming from on that but I for one had no prior knowledge (not being on FB or Twitter) and not everyone opens all their email right away. What would be an acceptable "turnout" in your view? -

I suspect that with 13,000+ members they had to stagger it but it's out of order if that's the case. If you go into the email properties you will be able to see when it was sent and the path it took, I'm no expert but I do know that email goes through a lot of different servers? before it reaches you. Another reason for the poll to be withdrawn. I'm going to email James Blair, it's a mess. -
Christine, I was "counting" you and a few other "regulars" into the numbers, so you were paying whether or not you come along. That's dreadful hopefully you're fully covered by your bank and insurance. Were the tickets first class and for anywhere nice? You must have or must have had a decent balance then  Anyway, I'll pay yours just now and you can give me cash if you want to meet tomorrow (assuming you're not slumming it in the directors box again) or on the night.

Very good question, we should have been balloted by Gersnet. -

And they're currently losing 1-0 at home. I heard a rumour you're chartering a private jet to bring some of your friends to the dinner; or is SDM sending his? -
We now have 13 tickets paid, so only 19 left to sell. Based on expressions of interest on here and outside interest from exposure on social media; I am in no doubt that the dinner will be a complete sell out. We will remain open for priority paid bookings from pre-existing site members and their bona fide guests up until 6.00pm this Monday night 11 January 2016. Thereafter, we will sell any remaining tickets to new site members and others. All sales will be "first paid first served", subect to the above criteria. As a reminder, the previous bank details continue to apply and newbies please PM me for details.

Alex, just for clarity here, the result of the poll has not been announced since the closing date for voting is Sunday 10th of January 2016. I wonder if you mean Rangers response, rather than the result of the poll? -

I got the email on 7 January 2016 at 12:47. For clarity, the whole email has been reproduced at#2 but to be approved, this proposal will require no less than 75% of votes cast to be in favour. Closing date for voting is Sunday 10th of January 2016 -

RF will not be "obliged to" buy shres through the Club at any time, though they may have the option in any rights issue in due course. The answer to your question depends on the objective of RF: The primary aim of Rangers First is to purchase a substantial shareholding in Rangers FC and thereafter to ensure a stable financial future where all funds generated by the club, Rangers FC and the fans are reinvested in the football club. For more details, see the draft governance documents on the Rangers First website. (which I can't find) - See more at: http://www.rangersfirst.org/frequently-asked-questions/#sthash.0J53fYcG.dpuf I think that for this purpose "substantial" was defined as 5%; which confers certain rights, mainly the right to circulate a written statement and the important right to call a General Meeting. My recollection was that members or potential members at the initial meetings took the view that establishing that level of shareholding was more important than who received the money for the shares and as you say even Mr King had to concede that principle. Once that level is established the view might well be different and as I've said IIRC there was a view that money could be offered to the Club for specific projects aside from share purchase. -

Half a million pounds worth of donations is quite a big molehill, Zappa; even for an organisation that is probably taking in 3x or 4x that amount per annum. Also the fact that at least one Board member has resigned over the episode would suggest that it is more than just bad timing or poor communication. -

Firstly, in relation to the statements "I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time. .......‘Would I be willing to invest £30m despite what happened previously? Of course. Sure.’" if your assertion is correct then it's no different from Marks & Spencer saying "up to 50% discount", when you can't find more than one item size XXX hidden away that is actually on 50% discount. Secondly, in relation to the "period of time": "Dave King has revealed he is ready to spearhead a £50million plan to rebuild Rangers with at least £30m of his own money. The South Africa-based businessman believes it could take that sum spread over the next four years to make the Ibrox club genuine competitors to Celtic at the top of the Scottish game once more..... ‘My view of what it will take to make Rangers competitive again is bottom end £30m but probably £50m — over the next four years,’ King told Sportsmail. It's not stupidity at all, unless the Club are lying about the circumstances, it's the main question that most if not all members (including some Board members it would appear) like me would like to have answered. -
